*IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - LONG POST*
Folks, my run with Liam's Lures has come to an end, or perhaps a very long pause. Although I have enjoyed the vast majority of what owning and operating this business has entailed, right now seems like an appropriate time to bring things to a close. I value time with my family more and more as time passes, and I really want to put more focus into time with them and their well-being. My career also takes a little more mental energy out of me, and when I am home, I just want to relax my mind. More time spent ice fishing will be a nice bonus.
I have a whole lot of people to thank, and I will try my best to remember those who played a large role in the success of Liam's Lures, some who've become good friends to me, and I hope to continue to keep in touch with. First, my very supportive wife, Sarah, who has given me so many words of encouragement through the whole journey. My wonderful son, Liam, who provides me so much inspiration. Josh Schwartz, who took a chance on me by carrying some of my first flies in his bait shop. We soon became great friends. Joe Peters, my brother from another mother, who also has given me lots of support and help with his connections with his employer. Dominic Johnson, a dude that bought some of my stuff early on. Not long after, we happened to meet up in Northern Iowa to ice fish and we stayed in contact after that. He was a great help to inspire my creations and was huge in helping me promote the business by word of mouth and through Facebook. Curt Funk, who is an amazing ice jig creator. He also was a great inspiration to me. Great customers like Jeff Borchardt, Justin Gamerdinger, Cody Frank, Joe Senger, Nick Colehour, Steve Veres, Brian Hovey, Bill Carroll, and many others who all probably have more of my flies than I actually do. I hope that all of you see this post and my recognition of you being a major part of my success. And last but not least, my dear friend Joey Highland, who provided me so much inspiration, so many ideas, and so many laughs. Joey is catching all the bull bluegills up in heaven now, hopefully with one of my scuds, which he always called "scrubs". 🤣
At this time, I don't know for sure if this is the end for Liam's Lures, or if I will get the itch again to start it back up down the road. Right now, I feel like this may be it.
There are still some products available for sale on liamslures.com, but the site will be going dark 8/27/2022. If you want some flies for this ice season, you better jump on it soon!
Thank you to everyone who has ever supported this venture with money spent, kind words spoken, and all of the other things that go into making a successful business. Maybe you will see me out on the water a little more often!
