They love to have fun. Malachi: I received Malachi, an Australian Shepherd, as a gift from my daughter. He was a cutie but had horrible dry flaky skin. So flaky that if you ran your fingers through his fur the flakes would rise to the top and it looked like snow. He had been treated for a skin condition for a few months by my vet but the treatments were unsuccessful. The poor puppy scratched cont
inuously and licked his paws all the time. I decided to talk to a nutritionist at a holistic pet food store. He indicated that many dogs today have a chicken allergy, and said Malachi did display the symptoms. He suggested I try him on a single source protein food without chicken. They carry three. Zignature was one he highly recommended, and he also liked the brand because of the many varieties. He indicated the lamb would be the best formula to start with. Within three weeks the scratching and paw licking had stopped. Within a couple more weeks his skin had cleared up completely. Malachi is now 2-1/5, and has a beautiful, shiny soft coat and does not exhibit any symptoms of his chicken allergy. He is healthy and full of energy. The vitamins and nutrients help keep him energized and going all day. He competes with Ultimate Air Dogs in dock diving, and UpDog (disc/frisbee) competitions. Merlin: Merlin was a former "Redlands Rock Pit" dog. Redland, FL is located outside Miami, and is known for some of it's "rock pit" areas. There is one that has become a popular location for people to abandon their unwanted pets and leave them homeless. As many as 100 at a time have been found there. Merlin was one. Fortunately, he was rescued by Ewenity Farms Herding Dog Haven. I met him through his foster who was a friend of mine and immediately fell in love. Due to his lack of good nutrition, Merlin had a coat that felt like steel wool and was very dull in color. The foster asked if there was a food I had in mind and because of the success in treating a severe allergy with a family member's dog by feeding Zignature Dog Food, I told her I wanted to try Merlin on it as well. She bought a bag and started him on it a few days before I was to pick him up. Within a week there was a very noticeable difference in his coat. There was a shine that wasn’t there before and it was becoming softer. After about three weeks his coat was a beautiful glossy black and it was so soft that it was hard to believe it was the same dog. Merlin was also only around 40 lbs when he came home with me and now he is a very healthy 56 lbs of solid muscle. He competes in dock diving and UpDog frisbee competitions. Zignature has really made a huge difference in Merlin’s health, had given him a beautiful coat and it helps maintain his weight so that he stays fit for his active lifestyle.
