A foggy Christmas Eve morning...
Embraced by the cool mist...
A perfect time to reflect...
Christmas Eve...
The final hours to prepare...
Last minute Shopping, Wrapping...
Making and baking treats for the Big guy in Red...
Then, the little ones are off to bed to dream ...
Of sugar plums in their heads...
Heck no ...we said!!!
They're dreaming about bicycles, dolls, big red wagons and sleds!
Time for Santa's helpers to get busy instead of going to bed!
So build we did... Bicycles, Wagons, Easy Bake ovens & more...
We joyfully worked through the night with delight (and a bit of Egg nog)
until every package was neatly wrapped & labeled
with love then stacked under the that Big 'ol tree with all the lights and tinsel...
Cookies and milk had been gently placed by the children...
And replaced with a note of gratitude...
Then it was time for a little Santa helpers nap...
and like a snap...
We were quickly awakened...
To the joy that burst out of bed too early in the morning!
Gleefully tearing through those gently wrapped gifts and riding the bicycles...
Boxes, wrapping, bows and labels everywhere...
Piles of gifts for each child...carefully counted by each child...
(you know just to be sure Santa was fair!)
Laughing, giggling, grinning and a hoot & a holler was heard here & there!
Screaming "The BEST CHRISTMAS Ever!"
Totally worth no sleep!
My Mom and I had this time together for many years.
Something I would never give up. Spend that time with your Mom creating Christmas memories or any occasion that touches your heart..touch her heart.
She won't always be with you, but those memories will be...
A lifetime of memories that you may recall one day...
embraced by the mist of Christmas Eve.
Mom I miss you and love you so very much!
