How to headstand: reel edition 📽️

Two things to focus on:

1. Keep pressing the forearms down. I can't emphasize this enough. Take pressure OFF the head. Think about having a piece of paper sliding under the head.

2. Once the hips are over the shoulders, draw one knee into the chest rather than reaching the foot to the ceiling. I like to call this an "egg shape". Find the balance of hips over shoulders before extending the legs upwards.

This week we're looking at JOY in our practice. So if anything, have fun with this. You don't have to actually do a full headstand! Just PLAY! 🖤🤍

how to explore headstand 🤸‍♀️

it's not about getting upside down right away (or at all) — just about building, noticing, and playing along the way.

start with your foundation.
feel the support of your shoulders.

then begin to stack—bringing hips over shoulders, finding that line of balance.

from there, maybe you lift. maybe you don’t.
maybe you stay in the “egg shape” and see what happens.

this month is about play and presence ✨
