Families,
The summer baseball season is in it’s last few games and tournaments. I wanted to take a moment and give you some information regarding some changes that will be happening in the future. Some of you may know this, but at the end of the spring baseball season, I decided to step down as the head varsity baseball coach. It was not an easy decision on my end. I love all the players in all of our programs and I’m excited to see the continued success of Lake Mills Baseball. Ultimately, I was ready for a break. I’ve been coaching 2-3 sports for the last 14 years and it was starting to wear on me. I needed to take this break now, so I want to get back into it at a later time.
So, what does this mean for the baseball club?
They are in the process of hiring a new coach and I fully intend to give the new coach all the stuff that I have started so this can continue. The new coach might have new ideas on how he would like to run things and I would strongly encourage the new coach to talk to all of our coaches. This way you all can share input on things that worked and things you would like to see improved. I want you to know I tried my very best to make this successful. I know there are always things that could be better and I kept notes on that so the program could continue to grow. I will share these things with the new coach.
I want to thank all of the coaches for taking the time to coach our youth. A successful high school baseball program doesn’t happen without all of your time! I want to thank the families for showing support to myself and the baseball program. It has been fun hearing the growth of our players and I look forward to following along as they move through their baseball careers.
Thank you
Coach Justin Annen
