I see this d**king mistake constantly! 😅

Players try to hit pressurized d***s but they’re hitting them too flat.

Here’s the problem - when you hit a flat d**k, I can take it out of the air and attack it!

If you want to hit effective pressurized d***s, remember: PACE, PLACE, and SHAPE. 💪

Shape means it needs arc so it dips down.
Place means you need to pull me out of position.
Pace means changing the speed to add confusion.

Most players hit their counters because because they’re prepping with a closed paddle face 👀

If you’re contacting the ball above the net but below chest height and your paddle face is already closed while your swing is moving downward ➡️ The ball only has one place to go: the net!

Instead, try this:
🏓 Prep with your paddle face slightly open
🏓 Swing low to high instead of high to low
🏓 Brush up the back of the ball to create topspin while still clearing the net

This adjustment made my counters way more consistent and ensured they all go over the net with pace.

The transition zone is one of the biggest things that separates good pickleball players from great ones 👏

Getting to the kitchen is the goal—it’s the most advantageous position on the court. But HOW you get there matters.

Being comfortable in the transition zone means knowing how to defend, reset, stay patient, and work your way forward instead of rushing through it.

This is one of my favorite transition zone drills to practice with a partner to get more comfortable advancing to the kitchen line 👆

Save this drill for your next practice session and send it to your partner!

You might not suck at volleys… you might just suck at deciding which one to hit 😅

I like to divide the space around my body into 4 zones to make the decision simple:

ZONE 1 → Forehand
Ball is outside your body on your paddle side? Forehand volley.

ZONE 2 → Forehand OR backhand
This is the awkward “chicken wing” zone around your paddle-side shoulder/hip. Instead of trying to volley from that jammed position, move your body — slide one way to create a forehand or the other to create a backhand.

ZONE 3 → Backhand
Ball coming directly at your body? Backhand. It gives you more room to work and keeps the paddle in front.

ZONE 4 → Backhand
Ball is outside your body on your non-paddle side? Backhand volley.

The faster you recognize the zone, the less time you waste deciding what to do with the ball — and at the kitchen line, those fractions of a second matter 👊🏼

The pickleball 4th shot is one of the most overlooked shots—but if you choose the right shot based on the height of the ball at contact, you’ll win a LOT more points👇

🏓 Below the net: Defend. Lift it and reset.

🏓 Just above the net: Roll it with topspin to the midcourt.

🏓 Shoulder height or higher: Attack & Put it away!

Stop thinking about the same shot every time. Let the height of the ball make the decision for you.

Comment “bag” ⬇️ and I’ll dm you the link with a free little gift from me 🎁 🤐

Will a new pickleball bag make you a better pickleball player? Probably not 😂

But if you’re in the market for one anyway… the new Selkirk Pro Line 2.0 Tour Bag is pretty hard to beat.

It’s 35L and actually designed specifically for pickleball with 4 protected paddle sleeves, a magnetic quick-access ball pocket, a separate breathable shoe compartment, tons of storage, and a wide-mouth magnetic top that makes it super easy to grab what you need between games.

Basically, it holds an unreasonable amount of pickleball stuff while somehow keeping it all organized 🙃

And the quality on this thing is 👌🏼 Weather-resistant, tear-resistant, and built to survive being thrown around the court.
