The annual Lake Lure Olympiad Golf Tournament took place Friday, August 14th at Bald Mountain Golf Course.

"The Lake Lure Olympiad and the Lake Lure Lions Club have been in partnership for years, and it has been nothing but successful. Even though the triathlon part of the traditional Olympiad weekend did not occur, the golf event moved forward. The organizers of the event are led by officials from the Lions Club, and part of the proceeds went to furthering their efforts in the community," detailed Adam Bowles, Director of Golf at Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure. "This year, we hosted 60 players, and they were a mix of Rumbling Bald members and Lake Lure locals. The weather was great, and the camaraderie was better! We look forward to continuing to host this event and look forward to the return of the full slate of events during our normal Olympiad weekend celebration."

Bald Mountain Golf Course aerification is scheduled for August 24th and 25th. The golf course and Pro Shop will be closed both days and will reopen on Wednesday, August 26th.
