To all students, sifus, and family past, present, and future:
As you may know, Bak Fu Sifu passed earlier this year. The association has been quiet for a while now due to his family's focus back on supporting each other, and I know quite a few of us who knew Alan has been supportive as best as we could.
While we all are grieving his passing in our own way, the question of the association continuing is obviously something to consider. For lack of anything better (or maybe ignorance if others has already been working on this), I'm stepping up to manage this page and pull us all together as we look to the future.
I am deciding to begin teaching again and accepting new students at my home in Lake Forest. I've already spoken with Lisa and she's aware of my efforts here. While I will not be so bold and ask for leadership, I do think we as family in our gung Fu need a space to meet, communicate, and reconnect.
For now, I am planning to open my home garage on Saturdays, 9am-10am, every week. I'm also thinking of doing brunches right after for anyone else who would like to join - just like Bak Fu-sifu used to do when I was in college first learning with him.
My ask - If anyone else is holding classes, sessions, or active in the Wing Chun community in Southern California and would like to help bring the Orange County association together, please comment!!!
