It’s time to wrap up postseason honors! Last month, following the ISL Championship meet that saw conference finishes in second and third place, we shared that three members of LFA’s boys and girls track and field teams earned All-ISL honors. Well, in addition to those honors, LFA was also awarded ISL Coaching Staff of the Year!

Congratulations to our coaching staff of head coach Filipp Velgach and assistant coaches Carolyn Gorowski, Kassandra Hayes P’18, ’28, Kevin Ingram, Jessica Kapadia, Jen Madeley P’11, ’14, Stephanie Ramirez, and Emily Wagner!

Today, we’re happy to share that five members of Girls Varsity Soccer picked up postseason recognition from both the ISL and the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association (IHSSCA):

Faculty 🔛🔝🏆

In a battle to the end, this year’s faculty/staff vs. seniors basketball game saw the faculty end the seniors’ winning streak, edging out the Class of 2026 by a score of 78-75! The popular tradition also served as a fundraiser led by GSA and the Caxy Athletic Team, raising over $300 to support the Trevor Project! In a triumphant close to the spring season, and the year overall, Boys Varsity Tennis brought home a second-place conference finish!

The team traveled to Moraine Valley Community College for the two-day ISL Championships, where they saw top finishes across all positions in both singles and doubles play. Leading the way for the team was Hunter ’28, who captured the ISL championship at No. 1 singles and earned All-Conference recognition. He was joined on the All-Conference team by Grant ’29 (second place, No. 2 singles), Hudson ’28 and Charles ’26 (third place, No. 1 doubles), and Naman ’28 and Nishant ’27 (second place, No. 3 doubles). Congratulations to you all! 🐸
