TRIPLE CHAMPIONS šŸ†šŸ†šŸ†

GU12 – Champions
Undefeated all weekend 32 goals scored, only 1 conceded. From the first whistle to the final they controlled every game movement, composure, and confidence on the ball. Defense locked in, attack clicking, and a full team effort every single match. This group is building something serious.

BU10 – Champions
Undefeated weekend for the boys.
You could see the growth game after game. The final wasn’t easy they were tested had to battle through pressure, stay composed, and find a way to win. That mentality shift is everything. Proud of how they competed and finished.

GU8 – Champions
My little ladies playing up in the U9 top bracket.
Took a tough 3-2 loss in the first game vs La Jolla SC but didn’t fold. They adjusted, learned, and earned their way back to the final. Faced the same team again and flipped the result 3-1 to take it all. That resilience at this age is special

This is my third year coaching three teams at once and it’s never easy balancing everything while wanting each team to succeed. But weekends like this remind me why we do it.

CITY SC SW GU12
First tournament of the year for my GU12

A few changes to the team but they’re adjusting fast learning my style and competing every game. Mistakes are part of the process, that’s how players grow.

First game: tied 3-3 went in thinking it would be easy and got an unexpected challenge šŸ‘šŸ¼

Second game: strong competition again, girls stepped up and got a 4-2 win.

One team dropped out but that didn’t change anything for us.

Final: girls knew what they were up against the first team they played came out ready and dominated from the first minute 3-0 win.

We always start the season with a tournament to set the tone it’s about development first… but this group handled business.

CITY SC SW BU10

New team, New players. New standard.

Couldn’t ask for more from these boys. From game one to the final they competed, listened, and asked questions something I value because it shows they want to learn and understand the game.

The goal was simple build chemistry and start trusting each other on the field they did that and more.

First game: 2-1, first official game together.
Second game: 9-1, starting to trust each other.
Third game: 4-0, took care of business.

Final: started off a little slow, down 1-0, then took control of the game and finished 2-1.

Went up against good competition all weekend and finished the job. Champions. šŸ†

CITY SC SW GU8 FINALIST🄈

My little ladies second tournament playing up in U9.

Parents already know I push my teams, win or lose. First game, they saw bigger, taller players and still battled to a 3-3 tie. Second game a little intimidated at first but kept fighting, fell short 2-1. Third game locked in defensively and earned a 0-0 to make the final.

Faced the second team again in the final. Girls came ready tied it 1-1, went to PKs and fell short.

But the result isn’t the story the fight is. They showed me they want it being younger didn’t matter, they’re willing to put in the work.

I’m beyond proud of this group of girls.

Every year I tell myself I’m probably not doing State Cup this time and somehow I always end up entering all three of my teams. It’s not easy as a coach trying to balance all three team but I do my best to make it work and give each team the best version of me. I’ll drive from one city to another just to make it to games because these players deserve that commitment.

These girls became a team last March when I moved down to coach the 2015s. I’ll be honest I was nervous at first. My players and parents only knew me as that loud coach on the opposite sideline. But the girls bought in. They worked hard and I worked even harder to help them understand the style I wanted them to play. Over time they adapted.

I knew coming into this year we were behind other teams but that wasn’t going to stop me from pushing them to the top. I’m blessed and proud of how much growth we got out of this group in such a short time.

Other coaches always tell me
ā€œCeja the best players always go to the top clubs.ā€

But I’m not looking for the best players I’m looking to develop players into becoming the best.

And the best part is knowing my teams are on their way there.

Watch out this coach from a small town called Lake Elsinore isn’t stopping anytime soon. šŸ†

Season comes to an end for our G2018

This one is hard because this group meant so much to me. Watching these girls grow, fight, learn, and love the game has been a blessing. I’m beyond proud of every player and every family that trusted the process and showed up week after week.

As some of our girls move on to new teams and new chapters, just know it’s not goodbye it’s just a new beginning. I’ll always be cheering for you and I’ll always be here for you no matter what jersey you wear.

Once my players, always my players !
