Johnny has been putting in the work for years. Quiet, consistent, dedicated. Saturday at the Dejitaru Interdojo Tournament, it all paid off with a first place medal.

What people don't see is the hours on the mat. The hard days. The times it didn't go his way. But that's exactly the point. Karate builds the kind of person who keeps showing up.

It teaches you to persist. It builds discipline. It prepares you for life's challenges.

Doing something difficult forges character. The dojo is the crucible.

Athletes from across Southern California came together to test their skills, and our small but mighty team held their own. 4 first places, 1 second, and 2 thirds. Courage, heart, and a whole lot of hard work on display.

Huge thanks to Sensei Alfonso Pena, Sarah, the officials, and everyone who made the day happen.
