The aim of this project is to select eight wounded service men and through a combination of wind tunnel training and in air training, teach them to skydive solo. Once they have passed the qualification which allows them to skydive solo a team of experienced skydivers will train them to competition standard (in 4-way formation skydiving) over the next year. The loss of a lower limb and other injuri
es typically sustained on the battle-field don’t necessarily hinder a persons ability to skydive or become as competent in the air as an able-bodied person. By giving these brave men the chance to become involved in this sport we hope to give them back a degree of the freedom that they enjoyed before being wounded whilst serving our country.
