Today we celebrate the man who started it all. Without Coach Rick, there would be no Sox Fastpitch, no teams, no memories, and definitely no crazy softball families! 😂🥎

You’ve built so much more than an organization. You’ve built a family, created opportunities, and helped generations of girls grow both on and off the field. Thank you for every early morning, long day, pep talk, dad joke, and for believing in these girls every step of the way.

MEET OUR COACHES 💙🩷🥎

We’re excited to introduce Coach Jami Voliva, our Head Coach, and Coach Maggie Voliva, our College Assistant Coach!

Both bring an incredible amount of softball experience, a strong connection to the SOX, and a passion for helping our girls grow both on and off the field.

From 9 years of SOX coaching to collegiate softball and a lifetime in the SOX organization, these two bring a pretty special combination of experience, knowledge, and SOX pride to our coaching staff. 💙

Welcome to the Sox, Emily! 💙🩷

We’re excited to officially welcome #5 Emily Verkler to the NWI Sox Fastpitch family! 🥎💙

Emily brings a great mix of talent, heart, and dedication to the team. Off the field, she loves softball, cruising, and traveling to the Bahamas 🌴🐬. She’s even been able to swim with dolphins, snorkel, and swim in a cenote!

She’s also a 7th grader taking all honors classes while maintaining a 4.0 GPA 📚💯, and she gives back by volunteering to help coach an adaptive baseball team. ❤️

We’re so happy to have Emily joining the Sox and can’t wait to see her take the field with us! Help us give #5 Emily a big Sox welcome! 💙🥎

💙PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: SAMANTHA ROZENICH #28💙

Meet Samantha! 🥎 When she’s not behind the plate, you can find her fishing, swimming, hanging out with her friends, or spending time with her dogs. 🎣🏊‍♀️🐾 And of course, pasta is always a good idea! 🍝

Samantha brings her toughness and versatility to the field as one of our catchers, with 1st base and 3rd base as her secondary positions. 💪

We’re excited to watch #28 continue to grow, compete, and make her mark this season!

💙 Meet #1, Kennedy Leeson! 💙

Kennedy is a hardworking athlete who loves competing on the softball field and enjoys basketball and swimming when she’s not in uniform.

A straight-A student who’s also fluent in Spanish, Kennedy loves traveling to Hawaii, spending time with her teammates, and never says no to Grillo’s Pickles and pizza! We’re excited to watch her continue to grow and compete in a Sox uniform this season.

Meet #4 Brianna Nieves! 💙🥎

Brianna brings determination, hustle, and a competitive spirit every time she steps on the field. From her first inside-the-park home run in her rec league to dreaming of becoming a marine biologist or pediatric surgeon, she’s always chasing her next big goal. When she’s not playing softball, you’ll find her bedazzling just about anything, singing along to Hamilton, or spending time with her friends.

Reegan is always on the move! Whether she’s competing in softball, volleyball, basketball, or soccer, she brings energy, determination, and a team-first attitude to everything she does. When she’s not on the field or court, you’ll usually find her hanging out with her friends and making memories.

💙 Meet #7, Anna Haitsma! 💙

Anna is a talented pitcher who also brings versatility at first and third base. Her hard work and dedication earned her a 2025 All-American Direct Invite, and we’re excited to see what she’ll accomplish in a Sox uniform this season!

When she’s away from the field, Anna enjoys painting, spending time with her dog Penny, hanging out with friends, and swimming.

We’re thrilled to welcome Anna to the NWI Sox family and can’t wait to watch her compete this year!
