Clear Currents has launched the Jared Hires Scholarship. Created in memory of Jared Hires, this scholarship honors his adventurous spirit, generosity, and deep love for the underwater world. It supports graduate students who reflect Jared’s commitment to the diving community, his enthusiasm for learning, and his drive to explore some of the ocean’s most challenging and awe-inspiring environments. By helping students pursue advanced diving education and research, the scholarship carries forward Jared’s legacy—encouraging future scientific divers and marine researchers to share knowledge, push boundaries, and contribute meaningfully to the understanding and stewardship of our oceans.
“Jared was taught the importance of education at a young age. He took this to heart and worked hard to eventually earn his master’s degree. He brought this knowledge to Dive Rite and was on a path to make it his own. We feel he would be very proud of this scholarship in his name, helping others achieve their goal of higher education in the very things he was passionate about.
