The CHS Boys & Girls Track & Field team traveled to Orange Park High School on Friday to compete in the District 3A Meet.

To be honest, this was not our strongest performance of the season. We worked hard to get here, but when the moment came, it didn’t feel like we competed with the energy and focus we’re capable ofβ€”and the results reflected that. That said, we still had some athletes step up and represent the Tigers well.

πŸ† District Champion

* De’Manuel Jones – Shot Put (13.90m)

πŸ₯ˆ Runner-Up Finishes

* Ashya Stokes – Discus (29.27m)
* Kensi Shaw – 100m (12.65)
* Tacori Allen – 100m (11.27)

Other Notable Performances

* Kyren Caldwell – 5th (100m, 11.39) | 4th (200m, 22.96)
* Aiden Pope – 7th (800m, 2:12.16)
* Timothy Todd – 7th (3200m, 11:32.52)
* Boys 4x800 Relay – 5th (9:30.82)
* Nicholas Nelson – 4th (Triple Jump, 12.38m)
* Reese Todd – 4th (Javelin, 20.89m)
* Dariyan Williams – 8th (Javelin, 17.78m)

We may have had a tough day overall, but the season isn’t over yet.

CHS Track & Field Update – Raider Invitational πŸ…πŸ’œπŸ’›

The Columbia High School boys and girls track teams traveled to SFHS on Saturday to compete in the annual Raider Invitational. This marked our first full meet of the season, and what a way to start! We saw several strong performances, a few surprises, and even some school records that have our coaches feeling very optimistic about the rest of the year.

Several athletes stepped outside their comfort zones and tried new events β€” and it paid off! The future is looking bright for CHS Track & Field. CHS Tigers Track & Field – Season Opener RecapπŸ’œπŸ’›πŸ…

The CHS Tigers boys and girls traveled to SFHS for their first meet of the 2026 track & field season! This early meet gave us a great opportunity to evaluate where we are in our training and conditioning, and it provided valuable insight into how we’ll place athletes in future meets.

This was not a full meet. Events contested included: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m, Long Jump, High Jump, and Shot Put.

Our CHS Boys β€” and in this case, one girl β€” hit the course again at the New World Fall Spectacular at Cecil Field Golf Course!
The meet was originally set for Saturday, but due to a record number of teams, it was split into two days. Columbia was assigned to Friday’s races. Because of the date change, this became an optional event, especially with our big rivalry meet coming up next weekend at Suwannee’s Heritage Park in Live Oak.

Friday brought plenty of rain and soggy conditions β€” but that didn’t stop our Tigers! The CHS Boys proved to be rainy-day runners, finishing 9th out of 19 teams.

We also had one female competitor, freshman Ilysah Watson, who bravely ran her first-ever cross country race completely solo β€” no teammates, no backup, just heart. She finished in 28:37, a fantastic debut! We’re excited to see her progress as the season continues. The plan is for her to compete again this Thursday at the Gateway Championship (10/16/25) as we work to get in three more races before districts on 11/8/25.

Boys Highlights:
πŸ… Timmy Todd – led the team with a season-best 19:25
πŸ… Aiden Pope – close behind in 19:38, inching toward that 18-minute mark
πŸ… Cole Tyler & Zane Vanderlenhoven – both broke the 21-minute barrier with 20:55
πŸ… Wesley Ring – strong finish at 21:21 and closing in on the 19s
πŸ… Schon Bales – personal record of 23:45 and improving weekly
πŸ… Charlie Ripple – another PR with 25:07 as he gets back into shape
πŸ… Ronnie Jackson – completed his first full 5K in 31:59 and already setting sights on 24 minutes.
