GRAY PLANTATION CLUBS TO CLOSE TEMPORARILY TO ENGAGE COMMUNITY, MEMBERSHIP ON RESTRUCTURE AND RENOVATION
REVITALIZED CLUBS TO REOPEN AFTER COMMUNITY-FOCUSED ENHANCEMENTS
Gray Plantation, located at the center of the Graywood master-planned community, is temporarily closing all operations as it embarks on a major renovation, revitalization and refurbishment of the award-winning Clubs.
“We will not immediately reopen Gray Plantation when the ‘Stay at Home’ order is lifted. Rather, this pause is providing an opportunity to reengage with Gray Plantation members, the Graywood Community and the entire Lake Charles community,” said Billy Rase, general manager for Gray Plantation.
“In order to do that, we want to have dialog with members and homeowners. In some early conversations, we have already heard excellent input regarding facility enhancements, partnerships, strategic alliances and operational changes. There are no ideas or suggestions that are off the table as we begin our discussions,” he said.
“We want to re-energize the Clubs in a way that works for our members and our community and that ensures a strong financial future. Gray Plantation and our management team, with input from membership, intend to emerge improved and as a true source of pride for the community. We intend to improve tennis, fitness, swim, golf, social and food services to rival any club on the Gulf Coast. We will work to add tremendous value to every membership category,” Rase said.
Gray Plantation includes highly ranked membership-driven clubs within the master-planned development of Graywood, encompassing 660 homes featuring exquisite architectural standards and varied home styles appealing to residents ranging from young families to retirees.
The golf course at Gray Plantation is an artfully landscaped course designed by veteran Southern course architect Rocky Roquemore. One of 12 courses on Louisiana's prestigious Audubon Golf Trail, the Gray Plantation 18-hole, 7,200-yard semi-private championship course includes 60 acres of lakes, 94 bunkers and four par 3s. The Gray Plantation Clubs include a 15,000-square-foot antebellum-style clubhouse and pro shop, dining room, grill and conference room.
The Sports Club, opened in 2010, is unparalleled in Southwest Louisiana, with a state-of-the-art workout facility, 25-yard Junior Olympic lap pool, kids’ pool, eight clay tennis courts and two hard courts.
“We are taking this opportunity to reset and re-envision the Clubs.” “We are excited for the future.” Rase said.
