25 years later, Union County remembers. 🇺🇸

Before kickoff Friday night, Marvin H. Pritchett Field fell quiet as our community came together to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001 and honor the courage, sacrifice and service that followed.

Our JROTC presented the colors as our band, dancers, cheerleaders, students and Tiger Nation stood together in remembrance.

We were also proud to recognize Mr. Paul Lewis, United States Army veteran, Lieutenant Colonel and founder of WUCR, for a lifetime of service to our country and our community.

For that moment, the lights, the scoreboard and the rivalry faded into the background. One flag mattered. One country mattered. And an entire stadium remembered.

We stood together before we played together.

25 years later, we remember the lives lost. We honor those who served. And we will never forget. 🇺🇸

Built for Friday doesn’t only mean the Fridays that go your way. 🟡 🟣 🐅🏈

Friday night didn’t end the way we wanted it to. But football has never been measured by one final score.

It’s how you respond. How you come back to work. How you stand beside the guy next to you and get ready for the next snap.

There’s more football ahead.

Learn from it. Turn the page. Get back to work.

Because the next Friday is already being built.

Before the first snap, we remember

Tomorrow night, before our Tigers take the field, Union County will come together to honor Mr. Paul Lewis, recognize those who have served our country, and remember the lives lost and forever changed on September 11, 2001.

Come early and join us for a moment of gratitude, remembrance and respect before kickoff.

🇺🇸 A SPECIAL PRESENTATION BEFORE KICKOFF 🇺🇸

This Friday night, as the Union County Tigers take on Fort White, we will pause before kickoff for a special presentation (shortly after 7:00 pm) honoring Mr. Paul Lewis—a United States Army veteran, Lieutenant Colonel, and the founder of WUCR.

We will also take time as a community to remember the lives impacted by September 11, 2001, and honor the sacrifices made by our military, first responders, and their families.

The pregame presentation will include:

Weekday work. Friday payoff.

Pads on. Chin straps buckled. Get off the ball. Finish the rep. Reset and do it again.

Because by the time the lights come on Friday night, the work has already been done.

The Tigers are back at it this week, tightening assignments, competing for every rep and getting ready for the next four quarters.

Two days until kickoff.

Everything between Monday and Thursday has one destination.

Happy Labor Day, Tiger Nation! 🇺🇸

Today we celebrate the hardworking people who make Union County what it is. The early mornings, long days and work that often goes unseen all help build the community we are proud to call home.

To our local businesses, farmers, teachers, first responders, tradesmen and everyone who puts in an honest day’s work, thank you.

And to the coaches, staff and volunteers who give so much of their time to our student athletes, your work is helping build more than a football program. It is helping shape the next generation of Tigers.

Wishing you and your families a safe, relaxing and well deserved Labor Day!

MORE THAN FOUR QUARTERS.

There’s a lot that goes into a Friday night that never makes the scoreboard.

The preparation before the first whistle.
The hits. The sweat. The fight for one more yard.
Getting back up and answering the next snap.
Teammates watching, waiting and ready when their number is called.

And through it all, our band keeps the soundtrack of Friday night playing from the stands.

The scoreboard records the points.

It doesn’t record the work. The grit. The growth.

Those are built one practice, one play and one Friday night at a time.

Over the past several months, your Union County Quarterback Club has been working hard behind the scenes to build new partnerships and bring additional support directly to our football program.

And when we asked Tiger Nation to step up, you answered the call and moved the chains.

Every name on this graphic represents a business, organization, family or individual our Club has had the privilege of partnering with this season to support our players and coaches.

Because of these partnerships, your Quarterback Club can continue pushing the program downfield, creating new opportunities and providing more for the coaches and boys who wear the purple and gold.

Senior Night in The Jungle

Friday night was about more than the final score.

Before kickoff, we had the privilege of celebrating our Class of 2027 seniors, including our football players, cheerleaders, band members and JROTC cadets, along with the families who have been in their corner from the very beginning.

Our seniors were treated to a special meal and showered with personalized Bibles, gift cards and thoughtful gifts, all meant to remind them that long before the lights come on Friday night, they already have a team behind them.

Then came one of the best traditions of Senior Night. One by one, our seniors walked across Marvin H. Pritchett Field alongside the parents, grandparents and loved ones who helped carry them down the field of life and get them to this moment.

Then it was time for football.

The Tigers took the field and left it between the lines. The final score did not fall our way, but one tough night does not define a team, a season or the work that has been put in to get here.

Sometimes you gain yards. Sometimes you get pushed back. What matters is how you line up for the next play.

And that is exactly what our Tigers will do.

For our seniors, there are still snaps to take, sidelines to cheer, music to play, traditions to carry forward and memories left on the clock.

So keep driving forward. Keep moving the chains. And finish what you started.

Not every Friday night ends the way we want it to.

Tonight didn’t. But a final score doesn’t erase the work, the fight, or the years that brought our seniors to this field tonight.

On Senior Night, Tiger Nation had the chance to recognize a group of young men who have worn the purple and gold, put in the hours when the stands were empty, and helped carry the tradition of Union County Football forward.

There’s still football left to play.
There’s still work to do.
And there’s still plenty worth fighting for.

Keep your heads up, Tigers. Back to work. 🐅🏈
And to our seniors, tonight was yours. We’re proud of you. 💜💛
