PLAYER NEEDED - INFIELDER ! I really do not post much about my daughter's softball team which is not good. This is an amazing team! If you have a daughter or know someone looking to be on a premier 16U fastpitch softball team, this is the team!! My daughter has been on the team for several years and this has been the best experience for her. She has grown physically and mentally in ways I did not imagine, while still having her love of the game. I know a lot of other teams hype themselves up, but I am a parent and this team and the coaches are amazing and very humble! We are looking for a few good ladies! "A" level 16U travel team, FFZ Phoenix, in need of one additional player for the upcoming summer season and beyond. Current team is a talented and ranked 16U team with full schedule of PGF tournaments. Looking ideally for talented outfielder but would welcome a tremendous utility player with diversity to play multiple positions. What an amazing weekend at the 16U Sparks Elgin ASA National Qualifier Tournament! FFZ Phoenix took 1st place with a 7-0 record. It truly was a team effort! Our girls had a stellar performance! Thanks to our coaches for working with the girls to perform their best on the field and all the lessons taught to be the best off the field, too! Keep it going Phoenix!

FFZ Phoenix 16U Tryouts-2020 Full Time Travel Softball Tryouts. FFZ Phoenix is a A level program geared toward elite competition and high school/college level development by high level coaching and off-season training. Our fees include a membership to our own indoor facility, Fattfro Zone in Lake Barrington, Strength Training, Speed & Agility Training, and being coached by coaches with impressive results on and off the field!

Another coach (Mark Romer) spotlight with equally impressive experience! Coach Romer and Coach Wis really make a difference!

Mark attended Springfield High School in Springfield, Illinois graduating in 1986. Mark played centerfield and pitched for SHS and in 1985 as a junior, he led Springfield High to a 2nd place finish in the Illinois High School state tournament. At SHS he earned All City and All Conference honors both as a junior and a senior. After high school he attended Lincoln Land Community College in his hometown of Springfield. At Lincoln Land he set school records for at bats, runs, hits, triples, and total bases. In 1988 he was named to the NJCAA All America team. Mark then accepted a full scholarship to attend Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina for his junior and senior seasons. While at Coastal he led them to 73 wins over two seasons in 1989 & 1990. Mark stole 66 bases in his two seasons at Coastal. He was a 2 time All Big South Conference selection as well as being named to the Big South Conference all-tournament team both his junior and senior years. In 1990 Mark was named The Big South Conference Player of the Year and he was also named to the All South Carolina Collegiate team as an outfielder. Mark was also named to the Big South Conference All Decade team for the 1990's. After his senior year, Mark served as an assistant baseball and softball coach at Coastal Carolina and in 2001 Mark was inducted into the Coastal Carolina Hall of Fame. Mark was also recently inducted into the Lincoln Land Community College Hall of Fame. Mark is currently giving private lessons at FFZ.

FFZ Phoenix Coach Spotlight. FFZ Phoenix Softball has great coaching with exceptional experience. Here is a bio on one of our coaches, Elissa Wisniewski.

Elissa attended Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois graduating in 2002. Elissa pitched for SHS and in 1999, as a freshman, she led Stevenson High to a 5th place finish in the Illinois High School state tournament. At SHS she earned 1st team All Conference and 1st Team All Area (Captain in 2002) all four years as well as 1st Team All State her Freshman and Senior year. She was also voted as Player of the year in 2000 and selected to the Illinois State Super 60 Team in 2002. While at Stevenson Elissa also set IHSA AA career records in wins (1st), shutouts (3rd), ERA (4th); strikeouts (5th) as well as IHSA all time records for wins (3rd) and Shutouts (19th). After high school Elissa attended Division 2 Winona State University in Minnesota. At Winona she helped lead the Warriors to their first conference tournament championship and first NCAA regional appearance in 2003, followed up by conference championships in 2004 and 2006. Elissa finished her career at Winona in the top 3 for all career and single season pitching records and led the conference in wins/strikeouts (2003), ERA (2006), and 1st Team All Tournament Team (2006). In 2011 Elissa became the head coach at Libertyville High School where the Wildcats set school records for wins in 2014, 2016, and 2017 while winning the Conference Championship in 2014, 2019 and Regional Championships in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Elissa was selected as the Illinois Coaches Association’s Coach Of The Year in 2014 and 2016. She is currently giving private lessons at FFZ.
