FFZ Phoenix Coach Spotlight. FFZ Phoenix Softball has great coaching with exceptional experience. Here is a bio on one of our coaches, Elissa Wisniewski.
Elissa attended Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois graduating in 2002. Elissa pitched for SHS and in 1999, as a freshman, she led Stevenson High to a 5th place finish in the Illinois High School state tournament. At SHS she earned 1st team All Conference and 1st Team All Area (Captain in 2002) all four years as well as 1st Team All State her Freshman and Senior year. She was also voted as Player of the year in 2000 and selected to the Illinois State Super 60 Team in 2002. While at Stevenson Elissa also set IHSA AA career records in wins (1st), shutouts (3rd), ERA (4th); strikeouts (5th) as well as IHSA all time records for wins (3rd) and Shutouts (19th). After high school Elissa attended Division 2 Winona State University in Minnesota. At Winona she helped lead the Warriors to their first conference tournament championship and first NCAA regional appearance in 2003, followed up by conference championships in 2004 and 2006. Elissa finished her career at Winona in the top 3 for all career and single season pitching records and led the conference in wins/strikeouts (2003), ERA (2006), and 1st Team All Tournament Team (2006). In 2011 Elissa became the head coach at Libertyville High School where the Wildcats set school records for wins in 2014, 2016, and 2017 while winning the Conference Championship in 2014, 2019 and Regional Championships in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Elissa was selected as the Illinois Coaches Association’s Coach Of The Year in 2014 and 2016. She is currently giving private lessons at FFZ.
