Northeast Pennsylvania Christian Academy - NPCA Basketball Tourney

Northeast Pennsylvania Christian Academy - NPCA Basketball Tourney NPCA began as the North Pocono Christian Academy Invitational Basketball Tournament. In 1994, girls teams were invited to play.

Psalm 78:4 We will not hide them from their children, showing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done. Starting in March, 1989, seven Christian schools' boys teams participated: Canaan 1st place, North Pocono 2nd, Central Baptist JV (NY) 3rd, Damascus 4th, Ebenezer 5th, Muhlenburg 6th, and Williamsport 7th. Four teams took part: Canaan 1st place, Ebenezer 2nd, North Pocono 3rd, Sweet Valley 4th. Throughout the years, teams and schools have come and gone. But the main emphasis of this basketball tournament is focused around Christ, around His Word, and around fellowship with believers of like faith. Yes, trophies are given out (so it does matter who wins and who loses), but as Scripture tells us, “And He [Christ] is the head of the body, the church: Who is the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence.”
