Posed vs un posed 🤷🏼‍♀️

I posted a similar picture on my story last week and then i thought...wait i look nothing like that right now. It didnt really cross my mind until another new mom messaged me saying how quickly i “bounced back”. As a womans fitness coach, a mom and a future postpartum trainer its my job to keep it real. Even if that first photo did make me feel good about myself.

I am nottttt one of those girls who had a baby and doesnt look like she had a baby. I definitely look like i had a baby lol. And i didn’t jump back into training or “dieting.” I’ve spent the first three months postpartum devoting all my time to my little man and making sure he is healthy loved and fed. (.Y.)

Im finally back in the gym and following a program and it feels good! My own program that is-joining those of you doing my current 8 week challenge🔥

So yeah, just keeping it real, embracing my own journey, the cards i was dealt and taking it one step at a time 💖

If you are not consistent in both training and nutrition, you are likely not going to see the results you are looking for.

As a coach, I see a lot of my girls comparing themselves to other girls they see online. 👎🏼

There are a lot of things wrong with comparing yourself to others, but let me high light just a few:
A photo is just that, a photo. Posing can make or break a persons physique and editing can further add to that.

Buttttttt, majority of the people who do post their fitness journey online are typically all in. They do their workouts. They track their nutrition. They are dedicated to making a change.

If you are killing it in the gym but not TRACKING your food, and hitting the numbers your coach has provided, your results will likely suffer. Eating “healthy” or “clean” is not enough to make change, in most cases.

Let me use myself for an example. In this exact photo I had been (almost) 100% on track with my nutrition for an entire year before this shot was taken. About two months leading up to this photoshoot, I was dieting. And the remainder of that year I spent in a long surplus. But either way, I was consistent.

And I actually wasnt eating “clean”. I was simply just tracking my macros and hitting my numbers every single day. No food groups were excluded (it was girl scout cookie season 🍪), which is why its such an effective way of ‘dieting.’

You dont have to be perfect to see results, just consistent.

So how did this happen?

Food.
I really started to eat properly for my goals. As i always say, its not always about dieting. I really wish that “stigma” would g**o. EAT LADIES. carbs are your friend. Your best friend. Eat sufficient protein, and a healthy amount of fats. Tracking macros and flexible “dieting” is so important in my opinion.
Follow a program.
Progress is not made by doing something different every time youre in the gym. If you are serious about transforming your body, the same movement patterns are key. What changes is the weight you are lifting, tempos, and foot placements. Get strong on the basic movements like squats, deadlifts, hip thrusts, and lunge variations. I also got comfortable under a barbell, and ditched the Smith Machine.
Stop the cardio.
Cardio is a great tool to help with fat loss, but if you are trying to grow your glutes, and youre also doing cardio a few times a week....the glutes probably wont grow. Instead, pick a step target which will help you move periodically throughout the day. 10,000 steps is a great daily goal.
And of course. Consistency and patience. 👌🏼 stick with it!

Just a little reminder to stay focused and stay consistent. ⁣

I didn’t start my fitness journey until 2017, but I have stayed consistent ever since. And that doesnt mean never missing a workout, and staying 100% on point with my nutrition. It means accepting that this is a journey/lifestyle and there is a lot of life to live outside of the gym and your meal prep. Find your balance and never lose sight of your goals. 🤍
