🔥 September 7th, 2025 – Subfighterbjj Nogi Fall Challenge Recap 🔥

What an incredible day at Mission Viejo High School! 175 competitors from over 70 gyms came together to showcase their skills, dedication, and passion for Jiu Jitsu. The mats were on fire all day with nonstop action, great sportsmanship, and high-level competition. 💪🥋

🏆 Team Highlights:

🥇 10th Planet Fullerton – Led by Coach Andy Balmore, this team came out strong with an amazing 34 wins. They took home 6 Gold, 7 Silver, and 9 Bronze medals. Not only did they secure 1st Place Youth Team and 3rd Place Adult Team, but they also earned the title of Grand Champion Academy Overall. An incredible showing from their youth and adult competitors alike! 👏

🥈 Trace Hess’ Subfighter– Another powerhouse performance of 31 wins with 7 Gold, 2 Silver, and 6 Bronze medals. Their team’s consistency earned them 2nd Place Youth Team, 2nd Place Adult Team, and 2nd Place Academy Overall. Congratulations to the athletes and coaches for such a strong collective effort! 🔥

🥉 Russ Miura Jiu Jitsu – A true representation of heart and skill with 16 wins, 5 Gold, and 4 Silver medals. They battled their way to 3rd Place Youth Team and 3rd Place Academy Overall. Amazing work by the team having only 11kids & 1 adult that competed! 🙌

🥇 10th Planet Costa Mesa – Dominated in the adult division, proudly taking 1st Place Adult Team. Huge respect for their competitors who left it all on the mats!

🙏 Huge shoutout to Cory Cass – our first event on Smoothcomp wouldn’t have happened without him. He put in a ton of work helping us learn the system, running brackets, sending one of his staff to help, and even loaning us the equipment to make it all come together. Couldn’t have done it without you, Cory!

✨ A massive thank you to our photographer, Blanca, Jerry (the best athletic trainer around), Coach AJ, Coach Dash, the wrestlers that set up & worked the event, all the athletes, coaches, families, referees, and fans who supported this event. Your energy and dedication are what make tournaments like the Subfighterbjj Nogi Fall Challenge so special.

This event proved once again why the Jiu Jitsu community is one of the strongest and most supportive in martial arts. Also thankful we were able to give back to the Mission Viejo High School Wrestling program through this fundraiser. Always grateful for the chance to support the next generation. 💪 We can’t wait to see everyone back on the mats for the next one!
