Yoga brought me these 3 magical beings plus the peace of mind to move through this life with them. Iโ€™m so thankful for discovering this practice, it led me to India, meeting my partner + father of my magical children, teaching on wonderful retreats and students I adore + the ability to continuing to learn and grow through practice and trainings. I am infinitely grateful to my teachers and to these 3 that have taught me the biggest lessons so far. ;) Happy international yoga day ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ“ธ captured by the one and only

The deeper we get into this storm the more I realize everyone is doing the best they can. Kindness truly is the most powerful tool at the moment. Kindness to each other, ourselves, the people we love and the people we donโ€™t.
Lockdown has not been easy, navigating a pandemic while pregnant has not been easy, running a small business as small business collapses has not been easy, navigating everyoneโ€™s opinion during this time has not been easy, being โ€œnon essentialโ€ during this time has not been easy but hey... thatโ€™s life and i would not choose to do it with anyone else by my side. The thing that made me positive Christian was the real deal was not by the way he responded to the highs in life but how he rose to meet the lows. I know we are so lucky to have each other as well as our amazing family and friends through this. If you are alone I know this can be rough. Donโ€™t ever be scared to reach out. We will get through this together. ๐Ÿ’•

Lessons I learned on the road. One of my favorite places we got to call home was Nicaragua. What magic to live in such raw nature. Although things were not always easy life was really quite simple. We found joy in the very small pleasures of life having running water, getting fresh vegetables, enjoying a cup of coffee, going for a walk, waking up next to the person you love... All things that we often gloss over but really that can bring the most joy. One of the loveliest memories was when I would practice Yoga while Christian surfed in some totally wild spot. As we go through hard times I come back to this idea of finding joy in the small things. It is one of the single biggest lessons I learned in the poorest places I lived. Often people who have so little still can find the joy in life helping build strength and resilience.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

Gratitude is something that I have tried to practice daily. No matter how hard things get we can often find gratitude in the smallest things. Today I am infinitely grateful for life, my these two, my precious baby, my dear dear friends, my family, my practice, the conversations/challenges that continue to help me grow, the beautiful diversity in the world, the essential workers out there making things turn, the native tribes that continue to teach us so much, kindness, empathy, adaptability (big one for 2020 ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ), animals and this incredible earth we all call home. ๐Ÿ

The ocean or sea has always felt like home to me. This photo was taken last year in the Maldives. Beautiful right? What you donโ€™t see is the amount of in the water. On this very day our captain had saved two turtles who had gotten themselves caught in plastic. I want to do what I can to protect the beautiful waters we so enjoy and depend on so this November I have decided to join with and take plastic out of my bathroom. We have already replaced plastic bottles, to go coffee cups, Tupperware, plastic wrap, and many kitchen items. The bathroom has always felt a bit harder for me so I am excited to jump in. If you want to join please feel free to still do so. Go to to find out more. We are raising money for their amazing projects so if you can and want to contribute financially I will send you the link. Lots of love friends and lets do what we can to keep our waters plastic free (๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ).

5 months of growing this little ๐ŸŒธ. What a trip it has been so far. Just a few musings I have had while going through this precious time:
1) First off what a time to have a baby! we are living in an odd time which has heightened my emotions. In the first 18 weeks I took a break from the news and social media as it had a negative effect on my mental health. Things are so one sided on these platforms I often feel myself easily carried away no matter how grounded I naturally am.
2) I care a lot. About the world, the people in it and what world I am bringing my child into. I care about the values I want my child to have. Kindness, understanding towards others, empathy, intelligence, compassion, patience, resilience and most importantly a freedom to be their unique self. I have felt challenged by the current leader who (in my eyes) has not embodied those values.
3) My practice of Yoga and meditation has been so grounding and essential throughout this time. Thank goodness for it ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ I have an incredible support system in my amazing husband, medical team and teachers and feel confident in my practice and the level I take it to (what I display in this video may not feel right for all pregnant bodies so please do not use it as a measure of what you should be doing when pregnant ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ).
4) no matter whether you want children or not (both are very valid) we have such incredible potential as women in the form of our bodies. I was initially scared of the changes I would go through... but wow. How magical we are to be able to grow life! I know it sounds corny but it is true. I am in awe of how strong and powerful my body has been. I am also very very thankful to have had an easy pregnancy up until now and respect so deeply the women who have more struggle or cannot conceive ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ
5) this too shall pass. Whenever I feel overwhelmed I come back to this grounding mantra. Nothing last forever. Not these Hard times and nor will my growing this beautiful being. So I have decided to (try as much as I can) and not let the difficulties of the present moment cast a cloud over the joys of this special time. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’•
