Better to announce it late than never😂 i recently announced my time at LBHS is over.

I am extremely grateful for the support of this community otherwise what we have accomplished wouldn’t be possible. When I first started at Laguna there were only about 2 teams I had the pleasure of working with and that quickly grew to over 10!

This last year Laguna Beach Rugby hosted for the first time the SCYR (SoCal Youth Rugby League) High School 7’s championship tournament on home soil. Never did I think I would be part of building rugby in Laguna or win a championship which we did (year 2)! I assisted wrestling and helped rebuild a program. I coached shot put and discuss and had some CIF qualifiers. We still kept the weight lifting going all the while too🏋🏽‍♂️🏋🏼‍♀️.

Thank you for letting me share my experience and knowledge with LBHS! To all the athletes, coaches, friends and family, thank you💪🏼. I learned a lot from my time here and will bring that experience with me to the next one.

Here is a quick (the quickest) preview of what training with looked like leading into the start of their season. After having 3 home runs all last season they already have 5 home runs and the season has just begun!

We tracked and measured their training progress in the gym using . I have been using Output for about 4 years now and can honestly say that as a 1-man team trying to keep up with multiple teams, athletes and organizations it helps me provide better training.

It has taken time to learn how to best use the equipment for the teams, athletes and their training needs but it gets more and more dialed every year. Shout out to for putting in the time and good luck with the rest of your season

1. Power clean 3x3
2. Sled resisted Bound 3x22 (reps)
3. Box jump with depth drop 3x5
4. Copenhagen plank 3x 10-15 seconds each
Block 2:
1. Front Squat 3x8
2. 1-leg RDL 3x6 each (not shown)
3. Sled push 3x ~25 yds

One of the first sports I remember starting up as a kid was wrestling…this was in Oklahoma where wrestling is common. In Laguna Beach? Non-existent until recently. if you want to teach kids accountability, good character, hard work and how to be a better athlete I would recommend it. Why? It’s only YOU out there on the mat and if you lose you can’t go blame your teammates for it. Only yourself! It teaches you a lot as a kid. How to fuel your body for performance and manage your weight properly (if you don’t you suffer), how to self-prepare for a match both mentally and physically, how to lose and how to win.

This is not to say rugby is my love because it is😂 but wrestling made me a better rugby player and a better athlete in general. Shout out to my coaches and teammates growing up (coach Weis, Kincaid, Justin D) Awesome to be around it again.
