Tuesday Gi class brought together a mix of seasoned veterans and young up-and-comers.
Different ages, different backgrounds, but all working on the same skills that pay the bills.
These young whippersnappers make me feel old sometimes... but they also make me proud. Watching them improve, solve problems, and grow in confidence is one of the best parts of teaching.
And let's not forget the old warriors. The beauty of Jiu-Jitsu is that it doesn't ask you to move like you're 18. It asks you to figure out how to solve the puzzle with the body you have today. Some days that's speed. Some days that's timing. Some days that's just being too stubborn to quit.

That's why Jiu-Jitsu is for every body.

Young, old, athletic, out of shape, flexible, stiff as a two-by-four—it doesn't matter. The mat has a way of meeting you where you are and helping you become a little better than you were yesterday.

Now excuse me while I go ice my knees and pretend these teenagers aren't getting faster every week. 😄🥋
