Troup High’s Jeremiah Culpepper is the definition of an impact player. Jeremiah, who torments opposing offenses from his linebacker position, gets it done whether he’s sacking the quarterback, returning fumbles for touchdowns, forcing turnovers, or just basically wreaking havoc. Every game it seems like Jeremiah is good for several momentum-turning plays, and that was certainly the case in a late-season win over LaGrange when he returned a fumble 80 yards for a touchdown. Jeremiah has the speed to chase down the most fleet-footed quarterbacks or running backs, he has the power to bulldoze past offensive linemen, and when he gets his hands on a ball-carrier, the play is almost always over at that point. Not surprisingly, Jeremiah has received ample attention from college football programs across the country, and he had all sorts of appealing options when it came time to choose a college home. After an in-depth recruiting process, Jeremiah has decided Ole Miss is the place for him, and he announced his decision during a ceremony at Troup High. Jeremiah joins an Ole Miss team that reached the semifinals of the College Football Playoff last season after getting a big win over Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. Ole Miss will have to wait a little longer, though, since Jeremiah still has his senior season to play, and he is looking forward to making one last run with his teammates this fall. Congratulations to Jeremiah, and best of luck.

Javarris Warner is a touchdown waiting to happen. For the past two seasons, Javarris has been a focal point of a high-powered Troup offense as a big-play running back, and he has compiled some gaudy stats. Javarris has everything it takes to succeed at the running-back position. He has speed, elusiveness, vision, strength, and toughness, and those qualities have made him a popular recruiting target for college programs from coast to coast. In the end, one school stood above the rest for Javarris, and that’s Duke University. Javarris joins a football team coming off an ACC championship, and he is also excited to attend a school with a high academic standard (he is an outstanding student). Javarris made his announcement during a ceremony at Troup High. Javarris had four hats in front of him (South Carolina, Duke, Stanford and LSU), and he picked up the Duke hat and put it on. Javarris has one season of high-school football remaining, and he is excited about making the most of his senior year. Congratulations to Javarris, and best of luck.

It was an exciting day at Troup High on Thursday as a pair of standout football players at the school, Javarris Warner and Jeremiah Culpepper, announced where they'll be playing college football in 2027. Jeremiah, a big-play linebacker, who has offers from big-time programs from coast to coast, will be playing for Ole Miss. Jeremiah made his commitment official earlier in the week, so there wasn't any suspense during Thursday's ceremony, but it was still a really cool moment for him and his family. Javarris Warner, an electrifying running back who has provided plenty of thrilling moments over the years, has committed to Duke University. Javarris had four hats in front of him before making his announcement, and he picked up the Duke hat and put it on. Jeremiah and Javarris can make it official during the early signing period in December. Before college, of course, Javarris and Jeremiah have some unfinished business at Troup, and they're hoping to make their senior seasons one to remember. Congratulations to Jeremiah and Javarris.
NOTE: Check back shortly for video coverage of the commitment ceremony, as well as interviews with Jeremiah and Javarris.

Short gain, but look at her making tacklers miss.
