Troup High’s Jeremiah Culpepper is the definition of an impact player. Jeremiah, who torments opposing offenses from his linebacker position, gets it done whether he’s sacking the quarterback, returning fumbles for touchdowns, forcing turnovers, or just basically wreaking havoc. Every game it seems like Jeremiah is good for several momentum-turning plays, and that was certainly the case in a late-season win over LaGrange when he returned a fumble 80 yards for a touchdown. Jeremiah has the speed to chase down the most fleet-footed quarterbacks or running backs, he has the power to bulldoze past offensive linemen, and when he gets his hands on a ball-carrier, the play is almost always over at that point. Not surprisingly, Jeremiah has received ample attention from college football programs across the country, and he had all sorts of appealing options when it came time to choose a college home. After an in-depth recruiting process, Jeremiah has decided Ole Miss is the place for him, and he announced his decision during a ceremony at Troup High. Jeremiah joins an Ole Miss team that reached the semifinals of the College Football Playoff last season after getting a big win over Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. Ole Miss will have to wait a little longer, though, since Jeremiah still has his senior season to play, and he is looking forward to making one last run with his teammates this fall.
