🚨Coach Spotlight: Chad Kerkhof🏀
Welcome Coach Chad Kerkhof back to our Indiana’s Best AAU family!
Chad is a a former Purdue University men’s basketball player from 1995 to 2000 and served as team captain in his final year. During his collegiate career, he was a Big Ten Champion and made three appearances in the Sweet 16 and one appearance in the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament. Chad excelled both on the court and in the classroom, earning Academic All-Big Ten honors four times and being recognized with several distinguished leadership awards. With over 15 years of coaching experience, he has developed highly successful teams and talent (including two Indiana All-Stars). Last year, his teams captured championships at the Shamrock Classic, Proving Ground, and Indy Jamfest tournaments. Coach Kerkhof’s philosophy centers on hard work, unity, setting and achieving clear individual and team goals. He is dedicated to fostering growth in each athlete and building cohesive, winning teams.

🚨Coach Spotlight: Meet Coach Phil Johnson🏀
Indiana’s Best would like to welcome Phil Johnson to our Indiana’s Best Family! We are thrilled to add such an accomplished coach, player, and administrator to our Club! Phil is currently the assistant coach for the Carmel Greyhounds, and he was previously the head coach at Central Christian Academy and an assistant coach at Beech Grove. Phil was also the director and coach for the Indiana Red Storm where he oversaw several teams and ran tournaments for the Red Storm. Phil’s teams have won major tournaments such as the Shamrock Classic, Adidias Silver Gauntlet, and Run 4 Roses. Phil played collegiately at Penn State Abington and he has helped several players achieve their dream of playing at the college level as well. We are very lucky to add such an outstanding coach to the Club!

🚨COACH SPOTLIGHT🚨
🏀Meet Coach Amanda Rarick🏀
Indiana’s Best is proud to welcome Amanda Rarick to our Indiana’s Best family!
Amanda is a IHSAA State Champion coach, where she served as the assistant coach for the 2025 state champion Borden Braves (2023-25). Amanda is constantly in the gym helping players develop their skills, as she has overseen the Borden feeder system since 2017, with an emphasis on skill development and game strategy. Amanda also compiled a 37-3 record while being the Borden junior high school coach from 2020-2022 and she was a head coach for the Indiana Flight AAU Program from 2018-2023.
Amanda played college basketball at Anderson University and was a 3 year starter in high school from New Albany.
With that type of impressive resume, we are more than lucky to have Amanda as part of our Indiana’s Best coaching staff!

🚨 COACH SPOTLIGHT: Meet Coach Travis Best!🏀
Indiana’s Best is proud to welcome back Travis Best to our Indiana’s Best family! Travis is a member of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the 2022 Silver Anniversary Team, and he has coached in over 1,000 AAU Games over 14 years and has won some of the biggest tournaments in the Nation, including Run 4 Roses, The Clash, The Classic, Nike Tournament of Champions and his 16u team placed second this year in the NE2K National Championship.
Travis was an Indiana All Star and played collegiately at Purdue University and the University of Louisville. He has helped coach and train 54- 1,000 point Scorers at the IHSAA level, 4-2,000 point scorers, and 4 Indiana All Stars. Travis has also helped over 50 players receive scholarship opportunities over the last 14 years, and brings an intense desire to compete with his fast-break offensive philosophy and aggressive defensive schemes.
In his off time, Travis likes to spend time with his family and rescue/help animals in need.

Indiana’s Best is proud to welcome Coach Dave Rarick to our Indiana’s Best family! With 154 career high school wins over 11 years as a head coach, Coach Rarick brings a legacy of excellence, leadership, and player development to the program.
A proven program builder, Coach Rarick has led multiple high school teams—including Scottsburg, Homestead, and New Albany—to Sectional, Regional, and Conference championships, with deep postseason runs and player success at the next level. He’s known for creating strong feeder systems and building lasting relationships with athletes and families.
Off the court, Coach Rarick has served as a teacher and district administrator—and at home, he’s the proud father of six basketball-loving kid
