Pétanque Lafayette Pétanque lovers meet, greet & compete at the 3 Pétanque courts in Girard Park People meet up and play all the time. All skill levels are welcomed.

And there is a monthly game every second and fourth Sunday of each month. We start to arrive at 4:00pm and we play to 6:00 pm, often later. The Pétanque Court/Terrain de Pétanque is shown on Google maps. We come together as singles, couples, and families with children. You may find people from these countries playing with us: United States, France, Belgium, Canada, Cote d'Ivoire, UK, Mali, and Sou

th Africa. Games are conducted bilingually in English and French. We have sponsored an International Pétanque Tournament since 2007 with players and teams coming from the south of France, Belgium, Lyons, and Poitiers, as well as Baton Rouge, Seattle, and Austin, Texas. The tournament is usually conducted by Bernard Champey, a world champion and a representative of the French Ministry of Sport. We generally mark our location with an Acadian flag on a pole when we are playing. We have a club sponsored by Alliance Française de Lafayette, a local non-profit with ties to a world wide association seeking to encourage the use of French. We have an official club with a membership in the Federation of Petanque USA. The names of our club is the La Boule Cadienne de Lafayette/ the Cajun Boules of Lafayette. The court was constructed with our labor, but with private donations and public funds from Lafayette Consolidated Government, Department of Parks and Recreation and Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission.

Pétanque - VERMILLIONVILLE - Sunday May 3rd - 2:00 to 4:00 PM
This Sunday the club will be meeting at Vermillionville rather than our typical Girard Park location to play pétanque. The change in location is due to the rain events we are having leading up until the weekend and the Girard Park courts will be too wet to play on. Come pass a good time in the nice weather. Bring something to share if it is at hand.
