I met 9 girls for choreography this weekend. Music choices were so wide apart (Tango, Spanish, Egyptian, Contemporary, Latin, Hip hop, Jazz, musical....) and I feel my head is filled with mush of different music. Now, I am meeting another girl tomorrow and I got a request from her coach to "HIDE HER FEET"! Her music was tactically chosen (folk), but I have no idea how I can hide someone's toes while they dance barefooted. So I had been searching Youtube to see what other gymnastics choreographers do for girls with flat feet. I searched for 4 hours with no luck and I finally found this. This is a perfect piece to hide poorly pointed toes!!
今週末は９人の選手と振り付けセッション。音楽のチョイスの幅が広すぎて（タンゴ、スパニッシュ、中東系、コンテンポラリー、ラテン、ヒップホップ、ジャズ、ミュージカル・・・）、頭の中でぐちゃぐちゃになってます。
明日もう一人会うことになっているのですが、なんと彼女のコーチから、「醜いつま先を隠すように」とリクエストが・・・音楽は賢いチョイスのフォークダンス、でも裸足で踊っている人の足を隠す振り付けってどうするの？？？で、ユーチューブで何時間か探してみました。醜いつま先の体操選手がいないかな～って。で、その振り付けを見てみようと・・・でもなかなか見つからない。で、やっと見つけた！醜いつま先をこれでもか～！！！って隠すダンス（笑）。

It was a bittersweet Level 5 state meet. I am so happy to see most CGI girls had a great meet, but sad to see Alpha girls did not do as well as they could have. I love both gyms and all girls. They are like my little sisters or nieces. Above all though...I really really want to beat 5280 next year. I think I can squeeze out a tenth or two more from all girls on floor and improve leap and turn on beam as well. I may invent some drills to improve their posture on bars and vault. Sorry girls...no time to relax! I am already thinking about 2013 season.

First choreography for CGI is 2/3 done and she is looking very good! Second girl is 1/3 done. I have to start thinking moves for third girl!

After the meet, floor judge came where we were sitting and asked "who is working on their turns?". So I told her that was me. She smiled at me and said "Beautiful turns, thank you so much!"

Felt so good!

There are so many gyms in Colorado but not many gyms would hire someone like me...for teaching only dance part for floor exercise. I know I am not good at teaching tumbling, bars, and vault...and it is hard to fill my hours by teaching only dance part. I am really fortunate to have met so many great people, have been given opportunities, learned from them, and have been working with them. I would like to thank those people.

Dan (Alpha) who was not afraid to try me when I showed up for the interview. If it weren't for him, I would not have been here teaching girls.
Tiffany (Alpha) who took me in and trusted me since I just started my career as a gymnastics coach.
All Alpha girls who let me try my experiments (though they did not know) and prove that all exercise I came up with work for everyone
Former Alpha optional level 7 girls who presented my choreography so beautifully
Robyn who gave me an opportunity to talk to Stephanie (CGI) and Sonia (CGI)
Stephanie (CGI) who took me in, and supported me and encouraged me to get private lessons get going
Sonia (CGI) and Vin (CGI) who gave me an opportunity to be working with their girls
Shauna (CGI) who made me feel welcomed at a new working environment
All CGI girls who were open to something new and learned so much already

I feel so blessed and I really want to help those wonderful coaches and staff make great things happen for all girls!

Last week, I saw a few level 5 girls at CGI trying some advanced turns and jumps. This is the conversation we had then:

Me "Wait! Wait! You haven't learned that yet! Don't make that up!"
D "Then, teach me!" (and started twirling again)
Me "No! No! You are doing it wrong! It is hard to break the bad habits!"
D "OK. What am I supposed to do?"
Me "First, you have to learn to balance on open passe with turned out standing leg...not closed passe."
D "I see. Like this?"
Me "Right. But you haven't stayed there. You have to balance."
D (Start twirling again)
Me "Wait, wait! There is more!"

Well...one day later, she told me she practiced at home and showed me a good balance on open passe position. She was one step ahead of me. :)

I can't wait to teach them different leaps and turns. They seem to be so anxious and can't wait. I never get bored with my job. I love being a gymnastics coach!
