I'll be honest...I'm somewhat of a busy body and I get all caught up in the productivity oriented mindset all too often. I'm always thinking about what I need to DO next. I thrive on staying busy and having a lot to "show for my day" when it's over.

Can you relate?

I don't often find myself thinking about what I NEED in the moment.
But it's this exact question that if we started to ask more of...it could change the way we live.
And it could change how we show up for everyone and everything else in our lives for the better.✨

If you resonate with this post, drop a 💛 in the comments and know that you're not alone. And let's start asking ourselves what we need more often; together.

Sometimes I can’t even believe that this is actually my life. 💛

Working from home and being able to take care of my girlie at the same time was all I ever wanted.

It was the “AND Life” I used to only dream about.

Then I started to ask myself how?

How could I run a business from home AND be a present Mama for my baby?

I figured it out for myself.✨

And ya know what’s amazing? That AND life you’re dreaming of for yourself?

You can figure out how to have it too.💛
Everything is “figureoutable” (shout out Marie Forleo!) and I believe you’re capable of creating the life you want for yourself.

If you need help believing that too and you want support as you build your dream business and life…I’m here for you. 💛

17 YEARS.🤯

That's how long today's guest, Amanda Hudson Romero, Owner of Tush-A-Roo, carried an idea from "Theres has to be a better way" to finally putting her product out into the world.

It started when she was an exhausted, overstimulated mom chasing around her very active 9 month old and trying to solve a problem she couldn’t find a solution for.

What came next was a journey she never could have anticipated…

A patent. Prototypes. Engineers. Manufacturing issues. A failed order of 3,000 products. COVID supply shortages. A massive learning curve. A whole lot of money invested. Naysayers who told her she was wasting her time. And plenty of moments when she wondered if she should just give up.

But she kept on figuring out the next thing in front of her.

And while she was building her dream, she was also raising three kids. She and her husband made the intentional decision to slow down when they needed to, protect their family from the sacrifices they were making, and allow the business to grow on a timeline that worked for their life.

There is SO much wisdom in this conversation for any mom who has an idea she can’t shake or a dream that’s taking a whole lot longer than she thought it would.

Coaching is not giving advice. As an ICF Certified Coach, this is actuallt one of the VERY FIRST things we learn that we are NOT to do as a Coach. Because advice is "one size fits all" and it makes the assumption that just because something worked for me, that it will work for you too and that's simply just not always the case.

Coaching is about me deeply listening and staying curious about the clients life experiences, not bringing my own experiences as some kind of evidence and declaring my way is right. (That's what your family is for. 🤪)

When a client discovers the answers on their own through powerful questioning, they are so much more effective at achieving their goals or finding the clarity they needed in the moment. Because it was THEIR idea, THEIR own "AHA moment".

My job will always be to inspire and empower you to create the life and business you want for yourself. Not to give you a one size fits all approach that just won't work for you.

Every mompreneur I work with has a very different background and a very different current life circumstance that requires tailored and individualized coaching to create the lasting impact I know my clients are really seeking.

Two things that truly guide my coaching is the belief that I hold so deeply for myself and for my clients: I believe that you can be both a successful entrepreneur AND be a present mom at home. And I make it my job to support you in building a business thats aligned with this belief. ✨

I also do a lot of mindset coaching based on a certain framework commonly referred to as "The Model". I believe that your thoughts create your feelings, your feelings create your actions, and your actions create your results. So what happens inside of our head as we move through our day matters way more than most people know or realize.

As your Coach I help you learn to manage your mindset in a way that supports you actually achieving your goals. Because often it's just our own minds getting in the way. And I help rewire your brain to adopt new beliefs that are, in my opinion, necessary to create a balanced and joyful life as a mom and entrepreneur.

I take pride in being an ICF credential holder because it means I'm adhering to the highest standards of coaching in the industry. And as someone who truly values growth, I love that part of maintaining my credential over the years means I must commit to continuous educaton as a Coach.

A lot of certifications out there are one and done. You get it quickly and easily and then don't have to ever do anything else. Not this credential...if I want to keep it, I have to continue to invest $$$ in my education. And if I don't, I lose it. I think this is a cool part of what sets ICF coaches apart from others. ✨

In my private practice I use a blend of coaching & consulting. As a life & business coach for moms and entrepreneurs I knew I needed to be able to guide them in building the structure and creating the systems in their businesses...but I also needed to be able to address their emotions along the way.

Because as an entrepreneur there's an identity shift that takes place and having the right mindset and beliefs as an entrepreneur is everythinggggg when it comes to turning that vision you have for your life into a reality. ✨

If you'd like to find out if I'm the right Coach for you, book your complimentary discovery call with me using the link in my bio or just message me the word 'DISCOVERY' and I'll send you the link directly.

I can't wait to chat with you and find out if we're the right fit.💛

Coaching VS Therapy: What's the difference?
Coaching is focused on present day and future oriented growth where as therapy is focused more on solving problems from the past.

My belief: We should all have the privelege of working with both. Both coaches and therapists are so beneficial in so many ways and many of my clients are either seeing a therapist at the same time or they have in the past which I love hearing. 🩷

Being an ICF Certified Coach, I take pride in following their code of ethics which is very aligned with my own integrity. In the event that a client mentions something to me in session that leads me to believe they may need a therapist, it's my duty to refer this client out.

Now there are times in a session where we might be discovering the clients personal values for example...and part of that discussion is exploring why a certain value is important to the client. And this client may bring up something from their childhood that helps bring calrity to why this value is important to them. It's totally acceptable to tie present day beliefs or actions to your past life experiences. But the past life experience will never be the focus in our coaching partnership.

And a common misconception is that "the emotional stuff" should be reserved for a therapist. This couldnt be further from the truth. In a coaching partnership we explore emotions on a regular basis because your emotions are what are going to allow you or prevent you from taking the actions you need to take in order to achieve your goals; which is what I'm here to help you do. So it would be crazy to not address your feelings along the way.

So it's like this: Your thoughts create your feelings. Your feelings determine your actions. And your actions create your results. In every. single. circumstance in your life.

So as your Coach, I help you explore your thoughts and your emotions but as they affect your PRESENT day. Not as it relates to emotional situations from your past.

I hope this was helpful. 💛

The biggest misunderstanding about what coaching is (IMO) mainly comes from those businesses out there that are doing more consulting than coaching.

They're offering you a one size fits all approach instead of a tailored to you experience. Or, they're selling you a step by step guide on how to do something for your business, then they're providing technical support and calling that coaching. 😒

And what I hear pretty often is just that someone who's a consultant liked the sound of "coach" more than consultant, so that's why they went with it...but it creates a misrepresentation in the coaching industry.

Biggest difference between coaching and consulting:

A coach helps you uncover your own answers through powerful questions, reflection, and accountability.

A consultant brings their expertise to the table and gives you specific advice, strategies, and solutions based on what they know.

In my coaching practice I offer a blend of both based on my background and experience. I'll get into more about my style of coaching in another video.

Stay tuned!💛

There's a lot of people in the industry who call themselves a coach but that doesn't necessarily mean they have any training or certifications to actually be a Coach. That's because coaching isn't like other industries where that certification is required to be in business. (Not yet anyway).

So literally, anyone can wake up one day and decide to call themselves a coach.
Kinda scary right?

So, as you seek out a Coach of your own, be sure to ask what education, training, or certifications the Coach has so that you know you're in good hands. If it's an ICF approved training program... even better!

And listen, this isn't to say that any coach who isn't ICF certified just isn't a coach. They're just a different kind of coach (there are tons of different kinds) likely employing a different style of coaching from how the ICF would define coaching.

The ICF defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought provoking and creative process that allows them to maximize their personal and professional potential.

How most people define coaches:
Someone who gives advice. (When in reality a true coach knows that giving advice is a BIG no no)

I believe that my job as a Professional Certified Coach is to inspire, empower, and support you in creating the life you want. And where that starts is with me believing in your limitless potential as a beautiful and capable human in this world. ✨
