Roughing It Day Camp Since 1972, Roughing It Day Camp has been creating summer memories that remain in the hearts of our campers, influencing their values into adulthood.

Roughing It is an all-outdoor day camp operated at the beautiful Lafayette Reservoir. Our camp is open to campers ages 4 to 16 and offers a variety of activities from swimming, and horseback riding to crafts and fishing. We offer longer sessions running 4 and 8 weeks for staff to get to know each individual camper and give time for groups to form friendships and build a sense of community. We als

Springtime at the Lafayette Reservoir is full of life—lush green hills, sunshine on the water, and wildlife all around. From blooming flowers and trees to curious critters emerging on the lake and trails, nature is waking up in the most beautiful way.

It's been a busy week since camp registration for Summer 2026 opened so we're a little late celebrating National Boxer Day! Boxers make incredible camp dogs - they're playful, gentle, super friendly and LOVE being around kids! Whether it's greeting campers in the morning, joining in the fun runs or soaking up camper cuddles, they're always ready to be part of the fun!
