LSA 2025-2026 Season Recap
Wow! I’m still trying to figure out if all of this is real or if I’m still dreaming! This past year has been a world wind of competitions, excitement, and hard work. I set some pretty high goals for myself and never would have dreamed they’d be coming true so quickly. I want to start by congratulating and honoring all my team kids (and their parents) from this season as it did not go as planned. Head coaching both my girls gymnastics and T&T teams was not something I planned to do, but with the help of other coaches and my wife, I somehow made it work. Sacrifices were made from all sides yet everyone stuck it out and helped make this season go down in the LSA history books.
A few highlights from the season:
First, Lillian Naquin! LSA’s first women’s Artistic Optional Level gymnast and LSA’S First Louisiana Regional Team Member. This is an incredible accomplishment as only 8 athletes from her entire level get to be a part of it to represent Louisiana. She had the opportunity to represent both LSA and Team Louisiana in Atlanta, Georgia back in April.
Next, a huge congratulations to Dillon Miller, he became LSA’s first Senior Elite men’s tumbler. This is not an easy task to accomplish nor is it easy to go about and compete against some of the best in the nation. While nationals didn’t end the way he wanted, I have seen so much progress in the short time I have been training with him. I am proud to be his coach and can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.
Next, I would like to Congratulate LSA’s very first Intermediate Elite men’s tumbler and National Champion, Connor Prejean! He came to me 2 years ago with no experience in the T&T world and was able to climb the ladder to Elite Athlete status and perform with some of the best in the nation. Cannot tell you how proud of him I am. Although he is going away for college, I will always be cheering from afar. I can’t wait to see all the success he will have in this sport.
Last but not least, some of you know her as Coach Ellen or Ms. Ellen or just Ellen; but she is now and forever known as LSA’s first Senior Elite female tumbler and a TEAM USA MEMBER!!! I have no doubt that she will succeed and leave her mark on this sport. Proud to be the coach who gets to be by her side and help her achieve these amazing accomplishments.
While I cant say where all my athletes will end up later in life, I just want them to know they will always have a cheerleader in their corner. The work has already begun for next season, stay tuned to see what happens.
