Good morning,
Last night, when I was going upstairs to bed (yep, even in a fifth wheel we have stairs), I turned around to say good night to the dogs and to see if Kevin was far behind me.
As I stood at the top of the stairs looking back at our living space, thoughts started popping into my head.
You live in a fifth wheel, in a campground, and you have no permanent address.
Not many people would want to do this or could do this. The space is small.
Thankfully, you like Kevin so much because you are together most hours of most every day. 😂
I could hear some judgment wanting to come out as I was thinking those first thoughts—you live in a fifth wheel, in a campground, and you have no permanent address.
Then I recognized that in that little space with judgment, there was so much more.
Joy, excitement, freedom, space, opportunity, bravery, daring, adventure-seeking, and most of all, gratitude.
Because as all of those thoughts came in, in that brief minute I was standing at the top of the stairs looking back, “Wherever your heart is, I call home.” — Brandi Carlile came into my thoughts, and I just smiled.
That’s the beauty of love.
You can be in a huge house or a tiny RV. It’s not our accommodations that make the adventure, make the life. It is what is in our hearts, who is in our hearts, where we feel comfortable, what fires us up, what makes us want to go after the next dream.
That’s where life happens.
Our life happens to be in a fifth wheel, in a campground, with no permanent address. But our hearts are here, together, for the adventure.
Sometimes taking a breath, looking around at your life, and seeing who surrounds you can offer more comfort than what surrounds you.
I hope you all have an amazing Friday!
Debbie ❤️
