I want to take a moment to say good morning and quickly discuss something that has been on my mind for a couple days.
In the over saturated custom bait industry, where a 10 year old on TicTok or a woman in a bikini fishing can literally change your market overnight, honesty and integrity mean everything. And no, micro bubbles in your baits are not normal.
I have spent a lot of time making baits. And when I photograph and describe my baits it is all from experience. It’s my experience with my baits and I understand every one has a different experience depending on the scenario, and I’ll be the first to say my baits are not for everyone.
But, my baits are exactly as described, at the best price, if not below the market. I have well over 200 molds/profiles. Not all of them are on the website due to one factor or another. More will be added over time as I get the opportunity to really work them and make sure it can consistently produce a quality bait. I’ve said it before. A baitmaker that doesn’t fish his own baits isn’t a baitmaker at all. They are in it for the money, not the fun and excitement of catching quality fish on something they produced and then sharing that joy with others. This would be why I do not participate in the handouts for shout outs mentality on social media. The market has lost its glow.
Price gouging and misrepresenting your product is hurtful to not only yourself, but to those that are in the same industry. And unfortunately it has gotten out of control and that affect then starts to hurt those of us doing our best just to stay ahead and continue doing what we love to do. This is not a glamorous career path. And it’s a lot more work than people realize.
I can assure you, while I make mistakes from time to time and work feverishly to correct them, you will get what you paid for. “Paid for” being the key word there.
I’m am not going to call people out, its the customers responsibility to to either walk away and not return, or hold them accountable. Not in a keyboard warrior kind of display but in a professional manor that could help make a Made In The USA business better.
This is my promise to you, and always has been. Whether you’re just checking us out for the first time or you are a repeat customer. The words on our page, our website, and I do my best on IM, I get nearly 50 messages/emails a day and I have forgotten about one or two of you along the way and I apologize, everything is honest, upfront, and true.
Our descriptions are accurate, measurements are key, and colors are proven!
