PURPLE UP FOR THE MILITARY KIDS ...

AGTKD was invited to present a little demonstration today at noon in observance of the US Armed Forces Month of the Military Child (MOMC) - April 2026. The students - classes from JBSA Fort Sam Houston, Lackland AFB Youth Programs and the Chaparral Fitness Center- demonstrated the skills at their respective levels of color belts - basic, intermediate and advance. Included were poomse (forms) and Kyukpa (board breaks). I invited the students' parents to participate in the Kyukpa by holding the boards that their child broke with a palm strike.
MONTH OF THE MILITARY CHILD - "is an annual observance set aside to honor the children of military personnel for their courage, adaptability, and contributions to their family's service. . . . this observance continues the tradition of recognizing military children's unique challenges and achievements, highlighting their resilience and important role the play in military lives." And, as such the Youth Programs that provide the various activities the youths can participate in and develop life skills.
Kudos to the Youth Programs. And thank you, Parents for engaging with your children as you do.

As Month of the Military Child - April - nears, our TKD class at the JBSA Ft Sam Houston underwent its color belt testing this past week. Congratulations to Aaron Choi - Orange Belt, Alexandro Rivera - Orange Belt, Deacon Romero - Green Belt, Rowan Brooks - Green Belt, and Jennifer Privitero - Yellow Belt (photo to come). Thank you parents for encouraging and supporting their desire to succeed in Taekwondo.

On this Thanksgiving Day observance, I thank everyone for your friendship throughout the years. We are all blessed for our knowledge, skills and abilities that Taekwondo provides us. May all our instructors and students continue to excel in their efforts to improve themselves and to contribute to our communities. Giving appropriate recognition to Mr. Carlos J. Diaz, Taekwondo student at the Chaparral Fitness Center - JBSA Lackland AFB TX. In November 2023, Carlos presented himself for the Black Belt Test and successfully completed the requirements for promotion to the 1st Dan Black Belt Kukkiwon Certificate of the World Taekwondo. His application was submitted through USA Taekwondo. His Certification finally arrive and tonight, it was my honor with great pride and pleasure to present this coveted Certificate to him. CONGRATLATIONS, SIR. Well-deserved!

This is Fiesta Week in San Antonio. As I did last year and in 2017, I gave my AG TKD Fiesta Medal to my students and staff at the JBSA Ft Sam Houston, Lackland AFB and the Chaparral Fitness Center. There were a few not in attendance on Wednesday and Thursday, but they will get theirs too. To all - HAPPY FIESTA!!!
