At AJJTX, our practice approach emphasizes frequency over volume.

Every single class, you get high-frequency touches on the three macro positions:

-Standing
-Guard
-Pins

A little bit, often—rather than one thing per session.

Why?

High-volume blocks create gaps. Every time you step away from a position for days or weeks, you lose a little sensitivity, timing, and feel. When you finally come back to it, you’re re-learning instead of refining.

We still use big-volume blocks when it makes sense (a deep dive on a specific guard, position, or submission), but it’s irregular and intentional—not the normal pattern.

Our default is frequent exposure across all ranges, every class.
That’s how real, all-around skill stays sharp year-round.
