BREAKING NEWS: MEGAN BAYNE IS CASHING IN AT Dreamwave Wrestling “Trick or Treat”
Dreamwave officials have been informed of a decision that completely changes the complexion of Trick or Treat on October 10th.
Megan Bayne is cashing in her Good As Gold Briefcase.
And her target is Rebecca J. Scott and the Dreamwave Women’s Championship.
This is not a hypothetical. This is not a warning that Bayne may be lurking somewhere in the shadows on October 10th. Megan has officially informed Dreamwave that she intends to exercise the championship opportunity she earned by winning the 2025 Women’s Good As Gold Rumble, outlasting a field of 30 competitors that included RJS herself.
But there is something very different about this cash in.
Rebecca J. Scott and Megan Bayne are best friends.
Bayne had every right to say nothing. That is the power of Good As Gold. She could have waited until RJS had survived a war, appeared without warning, handed over the briefcase and taken advantage of whatever was left of the champion.
Instead, Megan gave her best friend the courtesy of looking her in the eye and essentially saying…
I’m coming for you.
She has given RJS weeks to prepare for one of the most physically imposing competitors in professional wrestling.
That sounds honorable.
But there is another side to this story…
Megan Bayne knows exactly what Rebecca J. Scott has to do earlier that night.
Before RJS can even think about defending the Dreamwave Women’s Championship, she must put her Uprising Alternative Championship on the line against B3CCA, Laynie Luck and Tori Fox.
If Rebecca survives that match, she will then have to somehow regroup and prepare to defend another championship against a fresh Megan Bayne.
So the question has to be asked…
Is this really a courtesy? Or did Megan Bayne simply choose the perfect night?
This is the danger that comes with being a double champion.
For months, Rebecca J. Scott has enjoyed the prestige of walking into Dreamwave carrying two championships. She became a double champion at Anniversary XI on April 11 when she defeated B3CCA in a match where both the Dreamwave Women’s Championship and RJS’s Uprising Alternative Championship were at stake.
Since then, she has defended both.
She defeated B3CCA again in a Strap Match to retain the Dreamwave Women’s Championship. She turned back Shazza McKenzie at No Escape. She successfully defended against Fuwa Chan at Uprising 9. On the Alternative Title side, her reign stretches all the way back to April 19, 2024, when she became the inaugural champion.
By the time Trick or Treat arrives, that historic Alternative Championship reign will have stretched across more than 900 days.
For more than two years, challengers have come and challengers have gone.
RJS has survived singles matches.
She has survived Scrambles.
She has survived four ways.
She has survived five ways.
She has defeated champions to become a champion.
And through all of it, Rebecca J. Scott has continued to find a way.
There is a reason RJS has become synonymous with championship gold in Dreamwave and Uprising.
But eventually the thing that makes you special can also become the thing that puts you in the most danger.
Two championships means twice the responsibility.
And at Trick or Treat, Rebecca J. Scott is going to experience the downside of being a double champion in the most brutal way possible.
For RJS, however, there is another layer that no championship statistic can measure.
Megan Bayne is not simply another challenger.
These two have fought together.
Bayne and Scott have stood on the same side of the ring and picked up victories together. They know one another. They trust one another.
They are best friends.
Now Megan Bayne has decided that friendship and opportunity are going to have to coexist.
Perhaps giving RJS advance notice was Megan’s way of preserving that friendship. Perhaps she wanted Rebecca at her best. Perhaps Bayne does not want anyone saying she stole the Dreamwave Women’s Championship from an unsuspecting champion.
So maybe the real question heading into Trick or Treat isn’t whether Megan Bayne is doing something wrong.
