A BIG thank you goes out to Island Seafood in Galveston, TX for buying our product for the people who buy fishing supplies there. Bite Ban's name means what it says. It is a mosquito barrier that keeps biting flies off of you. If you have a Tackle shop or bait store, this product is for you.
Or if you just work or play outside, I would highly suggest trying it. We have 100% positive feed-back so far this year and are in more stores that we were in last year. I would like to say thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. It was a great feeling to see how many of my facebook ''friends'' would actually respond. It was very suprising. Thanks to all.
And for those who are following me, here is an update on my product.
This year we made it into even more stores than last year. We sold almost 1200 bottles of Bite Ban Mosuito Barrier spray. This year we have already re-stocked the stores that we were in last year. It has been a great success so far. We are in McCoys building supply in League City, Pearland, Baytown and Galveston with other McCoys stores starting to take notice of how well it is selling, and working.
People really love the idea of something deet-free.
We are also in Boyd's One stop bait and tackle shop, Smittys bait camp and a few other bait shops as well as HEB grocery store ( wants a sample for their 374 stores to try) and if you are not sure who Moody Gardens is, look them up on facebook. Thank you to all the people who tried Bite Ban Mosquito Barrier spray this mosquito season. This was our first year of making, bottling, labeling and actually marketing our new Deet-Free biting fly spray. And I must say. We did much better than we thought.
People are really starting to take notice of how harsh Deet can be on many types of materials, ( melts plastic and car paint ) and are looking for a more '' natural '' way to combat biting flies. Our product made it into 12 stores and Bait and Tackle shops. All together this year we sold almost 1000 bottles. Next year we are anticipating being in over 100 stores by March. With more to follow. For those of you who are unsure of what DEET is and the effects it can have. Let me explain it. DEET was invented by the army to be used in Vietnam jungles during the war. It is a chemical - based mosquito repellent that has been known to cause seizures in children, as well as respiratory problems in children and adults. They warn to ''only spray it on your clothes, not your skin.'' DEET melts plastic. Can you imagine what it does to your skin? DEET can be found in OFF mosquito repellent, as well as CUTTER. Cutter has a DEET-free kind, but check the reviews before using it. DEET also melts tents, fishing line, lures, etc. They also warn against using it more than once per day, and to wash it off as soon as you go back inside. This sounds kind of.. More risky than the mosquito bite itself. Why would anyone put something on their children that was invented by the army for fighting in jungles? Well now you have a choice. Bite Ban Mosquito Barrier is completely DEET - FREE and you can use it as much as you want with NO harmful side effects. It is totally and completely safe for everyone from ages 3 to 100+. Some of our buyers even use it on their dogs to deter fleas. And people like the smell. Lemony. This is some great stuff that should at least be tried by everyone. For the simple fact that..
