Winner Announcement: PHASA Hunting Outfitter of the Year Award
The Professional Huntersâ Association of South Africa (PHASA) is honoured to announce Charl van Rooyen of Infinito Safaris as the recipient of the prestigious Hunting Outfitter of the Year Award, generously donated by Nylstroom Taxidermy.
With 14 years of experience as a hunting outfitter and 17 years as a proud PHASA member, Charl van Rooyen has demonstrated remarkable dedication to the trophy hunting profession. Beginning his journey as a professional hunter, Charl has grown his business into an enterprise that spans almost the entire value chain of the hunting industry.
Charlâs influence extends beyond South Africa; he is also a shareholder in hunting operations in Tanzania and Uganda. His commitment to the industry is evident through his regular attendance at PHASA AGMs and provincial meetings, and his steadfast support for both PHASA and the PHASA Foundation, to which he has generously contributed for the past decade.
As a proud member of numerous prestigious associations, including Safari Club International, Dallas Safari Club, Limpopo Hunters Liaison Forum, and the South African Taxidermy and Tannery Association, Charl exemplifies leadership and professionalism.
In addition to his dedication to conservation and ethical hunting, Charlâs business has made a profound social impact, creating numerous employment opportunities within the local community where his operation is based. His efforts contribute significantly to alleviating unemployment, one of South Africaâs critical socio-economic challenges.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Charl is also a passionate bream angler, a testament to his love for the outdoors.
