We had an awesome ride the other day!

The weather broke just long enough for us to go out and explore La Pine State Park.
The trails are beautiful and well maintained. Fortunately the horses studied the map and kept us on the correct path 😅
Sneaking in epic rides like this before the rain came felt like a special gift!

I spy two girls headed to have a wonderful time riding!
It was so cool to see the both of them riding in the arena, sharing a great memory while simultaneously working on their confidence, riding competence, bond with the horse, etc!

Juni had a super ride with Paulie!
She made leaps and bounds in her trot, timing of posting and overall posture, all in just an hour and a half!
It was pretty cool to hear her grandma say "this was the best lesson she's had."
Thank you so much!! I can't wait for her next ride ☺️

We've got a frisky girl on our hands!
After a week off and some cool rainy weather April is full of s***k!
Today we worked her on the long line and ground drove her. Even though she was wearing her saddle we didn't ride, sometimes making that call is better for future progress. Always try to set your horse up for success💫

I had a very happenstance meeting the other day!
A woman by the name of Temple Grandin.
(I fan-girled a little bit😁)

For those of you not familiar with her work, she is a prominent proponent of the humane treatment of livestock for slaughter and the author of more than 60 scientific papers on animal behavior.
Grandin is a consultant to the livestock industry, where she offers advice on animal behavior. And also a spokesperson for people with autism.
If only I could have an ounce of her tenacity and wit!

I'm so impressed with how Winnie and Sky did!

We practiced bridges and water crossings during our ride. Paulie was the steadfast lead horse who showed the other 2 just what bridges are all about! 🐎
