NO DATA CENTER for La Pine as La Pine City Council voted to close out the sale of the property to BoxMiner (Jeff Keller)

La Pine community residents turn out in overwhelming support against the data center in La Pine and that support was confirmed by Council member votes tonight to close out the proposed sale where the site of the data center was to be located.

A very special thank you to the following city leaders for hearing the community residents and voting in favor of closing the window to BoxMiner in La Pine.

It's official, let summer begin!

Cascade Lakes Highway and Paulina Lake Road are set to open for the season. The Deschutes County Road Department will open both roads on Thursday, May 7 at 8 a.m.

Please note: Cascade Lakes Highway is currently accessible from the south to Lava Lake via S Century Drive (42 Road).

In a typical year, it can take up to six weeks to clear snow from Cascade Lakes Highway and Paulina Lake Road. However, because of this year’s warm winter and limited snowfall, road crews have been able to finish the work more quickly.

As always, conditions can change quickly at higher elevations. Plan ahead and check for updates before you go.
