It has been both an honor and a pleasure to have served you all over these many years.
From my introduction to Grand Master Kim from my previous master many years ago to my graveside eulogy to him last month, he was a father figure and mentor to me that led me to become a true martial artist and to live the ideal of “Te san Moo an” The large mountain makes no sound.
He taught me how to be strong yet gentle and trusted me to both teach and run his school.
I took over the school in 2011 and trained over 10,000 students and promoted hundreds of Black belts.
Most important to me was the development of strength and confidence in so many children and adults. Teaching them to be humble and yet self-confident. To develop physical strength skill and coordination and how and when to use it.
Thank you to all the parents that trusted me to guide their children on the path. From our daily training, tournaments, beach training, testing and potlucks I got to share in the growth of our OMS family.
Through several personal events, Covid, 3 location changes and ZOOM I have tried to keep our school operational and solvent. However, with the downturn in our student population as well as the financial burden of the Emergency disaster loan I had to take to keep the school open, I am left with no choice, it is with sadness and humble recognition of the end of a long tradition, I must scale down operations of OMS.
For the time being I will resume ZOOM classes and Private lessons as a way for dedicated students to continue training in the True Oriental Moo-Do style.

As this Holiday season is upon us. I take comfort in knowing that this is a time when most of is are with our loved ones. And I for one must say that I miss the OMS tree, decorated by the students and our holiday Presentation and Potluck.
Most of all I miss Grand Master Kim's speech, and the look of joy on the students faces when it came time for the result of their 4th quarter test and the possibility of a new belt. I wish you all joy and peace.

Yesterday Grand Master passed on to be with his son Jimmy. I was at his home a few weeks ago helping out his backyard garden with Mrs.Kim. We stopped after hours of work in the hot sun and shared a wonderful lunch, I hugged him and drove home in the glow of his smile. To know him was to have understood the first principle he taught me "Te san moo wan." The large mountain doesn't need to make noise. He rose above all.

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of one of my greatest friends and allies. Aside from being one of the most humble and talented athletes and being a great husband and father. I really have no words to express the sense of loss. Please keep his family in your prayers.

Congratulations to our champions that came to represent at the international tae kwon do festival. It’s been three years, but they didn’t let us down a great performance of how a tournament should be run. Thank you, Grand, master, Young In Cheon, Ann, Cheon, and Master Alex, as well as all the referees and participants.
