More Than a Triton: Yaqub Mir
For Yaqub Mir, being a Triton means looking beyond the basketball court and toward what comes next. As a Data Science major and men’s basketball scholar-athlete, he is building a future at the intersection of data, technology and finance.
Through his 10-week internship with Dimensional Fund Advisors, Mir gained hands-on experience applying data science to real-world financial challenges. The experience allowed him to put his classroom knowledge into practice while discovering new possibilities for his future.
As he continues his academic and athletic journey at UC San Diego, Mir is using the lessons he has learned on the court, in the classroom and in the workplace to shape his next chapter.
