In response to the current heat wave, the La Habra Community Center will be available as a cooling center for community members seeking relief from high temperatures.
Cooling Center Hours:
• Wednesday, Aug. 26: 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Thursday, Aug. 27: 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Friday, Aug. 28: 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Saturday, Aug. 29: 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Sunday, Aug. 30: 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
We encourage residents, especially seniors, young children, and those with health conditions, to take advantage of the cooling center during periods of extreme heat. Please stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during peak temperatures, and check on family members, friends, and neighbors who may be vulnerable to the heat.
Visitor Information:
To help ensure a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment for everyone:
- Water and seating will be available for visitors.
- Guests are asked to be respectful and courteous to fellow visitors and staff at all times.
- Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
- Service animals are welcome in accordance with ADA requirements.
- Please follow all posted facility rules and staff directions. – we really don’t have posted rules so I think remove.
- City staff reserve the right to ask any individual to leave the facility if they are disruptive, abusive, threatening, rude, or otherwise interfere with the comfort, safety, or enjoyment of other visitors.
- Cooling center services are available free of charge during the hours listed above.
- Cooling center hours are subject to change based on weather conditions or facility needs.
