Here is the A Main Feature.
To recap this weekend I wanted to get seat time in the new car. I did request to start in the back all weekend long due to the amount of Sport Compacts that were showing up. I know some of us can get pretty crazy out there so to do my best to avoid that and make sure I have a car from next season!
I managed to find things wrong and get them corrected from Friday nights Heat Races.
Saturday afternoon before I headed for the track I swapped out some wheels and tires just to try a different set up.
Overall just being able to take it out and cruise it around the track without pushing it too hard I don’t think it did too bad. I did get a cooling mode active message with like 2 or 3 to go and I started loosing pressure in my brake pedal. If you watch the video with 1 to go all the way up until I begin to exit you can see sparks flying into the car from the brakes lol. Other than that the car made it home in 1 piece and I had fun!
I know this season was not how I wanted it to go. And I almost threw in the towel a few times. But thanks to everyone for helping with repairs, advice, and encouragement I eventually was able to get this car out on the track to race! If I miss anyone I do apologize. And to save the best for last. Thank you to my wife and kids. I spent so much time away from them this summer because I was too busy working on the car. Although this car kept me frustrated and wanting to push it off a cliff. My kids telling me they want to see me race again over and over. That was enough to keep me out almost every afternoon to make sure I get this thing to run. This past Saturday night was the first time my kids got to see me race in months. And my youngest seemed to be more excited than anything. Before I left the house on Saturday he told me “Dad you go out there and win. And if someone passes you 2nd place is ok. And if someone passes you again last place is ok too as long as you do your best and have fun” thank you to my wife and kids who are my biggest fans!
Now to get the car prepared for storage and offseason events!
