Alright update time. The car ran fine for the parade I didn’t see any temperature spikes when I loaded the car back up I didn’t see any leaks. However for obvious reason the parade wasn’t fast enough for me to test the shifting. I just drove the car this afternoon it does shift while in drive. But while in low gear it stayed in 1st. I plan on taking the car to into work and testing it on a longer straight to see if it’ll shift. After months of working on getting this thing going I really don’t want want to take it out just to have the transmission blow up. Fingers crossed that we will finally be back on the track for September 19th! In the meantime the kids want to go to the fair so that’s what we are gonna do with our Saturday night! I hope everyone has a safe race tonight!

So a few things. Thank you EVERYONE who has helped me with this car and given me advice and ideas. I don’t know if the car is 100% yet. I do know I can get it to start on its own now and all the error messages I was having are gone. Right now things are looking good. I’m going to do my best to make the race tomorrow night. I still have quite a bit to do and put together. As of right now I plan on making the Fayette County Parade tomorrow. That’s for certain. As long as the parade goes well and I can feel the car shifting like it should then when I get back home with the car I’ll be getting to work to finish it as fast as I can. Again. I’m needing some ideas here because I’m running out.
So the car can be started from the relay. I can get a switch and call that done with.

However what I’m trying to figure out is the car not shifting out of first. I tried a PNP Switch thinking maybe the car didn’t know it’s out of park.

Now with that said my cluster isn’t working either and that could be a cause for it not shifting. It powers on but nothing is communicating with it.

This could be a potentially be a Serial Data issue I’ve looked at schematics and noticed a set of tan, tan and black twisted pair wires go to everything I’m having a problem with.

If anyone has any ideas or knows how these data lines work please feel free to let me know. Your help is appreciated

Ok. So I know it’s been awhile since I’ve given an update on the car. We are getting so close!!! Things are waking up and powering on. The starter relay for whatever reason is still not responding but if I manual jump the starter then I can get it to started! So we’ve definitely made progress turns out there were multiple things going on and right now the only thing that’s preventing it from starting is that relay. Yes I’ve changed it out and gotten the same results. I figure worst case scenario I put the starter back on a switch.
