"This was a huge endeavor for me. I was accepted as 1 of 150 runners out of 9,000 to partake in the Go One More Ultra in Austin, Texas on 4/10/26 at Bare Ranch. I set the goal of my race and the campaign that went with it "100 For The Hungry" - AKA I was setting the goal to run 100 miles as a fundraiser for Food For Kidz (a non-profit) and that I challenged people to "donate their version of 100" to the cause. The first 12 hours of the race were fun. I enjoyed the people, the environment, the race, all of it. After 12 hours, is where I had to dig deep. The laps got harder and harder. At 8:00 AM - I had a hard time getting out of the chair and was wondering if I had what it took to finish. I made a strategy shift, I stopped coming back to the camp, and I had my crew just meet me with a chair by the starting line. Even if I only had a few minutes, I was gonna do that vs. trying to make it in 49 or 50 minutes to try and have time to lay down on the air mattress. I dug deep. Way deep. Getting to the point of counting steps. Yes. 20 steps running, 60 steps walking. Then 15 steps running, 45 steps walking. After 24 hours, I completed what I set out to do. 24 hours. 24 laps. 100 miles. Mission accomplished. Ultimately after the event - donations exceeded $6,800 and all donations were matched by me. At the food packaging event on 4/18/26 - the Willmar MN community came out for "Food For Kidz's Food Packaging Event" and helped pack over 114,000 meals of oatmeal for those in need. All missions accomplished. A big shoutout to Jake for putting together the training plan!"
