To put it simply, there is a chance that the club can live again, but to do so a current student needs to take the lead of the club. If you'd like to do that, let me know and we can move from there to get the club running ASAP

Hello, everyone!

I have a happy, tentative update to share with everyone. I contacted Mo in the Rec, and she has stated that although it is slow going she is working to see if an outside instructor would be appropriate/acceptable to have to continue with the club. As of right now, this is where the process stands.

While nothing concrete has been ironed out yet, I will be providing relevant updates as they come.

If you are interested in other avenues in the meantime, I’d humbly recommend Ian Maland’s recommendations of the La Crosse Training Center or Iron Works, as well as a group headed by him at Iron Physique. If you have any questions, please DM myself or Ian for relevant information or updates.

After many successful years in the running, it’s finally come to this. Due to multiple factors outside of our control, and unless other volunteers can be found to continue the leadership of the club, I regret to inform everyone that currently as of now the UWL Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu club is being dissolved.

While this is a disappointing end, I would like to thank not only those who taught me, but those in turn who became interested in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The fact that people kept coming back was heartening to see, and I appreciate all those who took the time out of their schedules to learn and have fun.

For further training, I would encourage those interested to consider the wonderful staff at Iron Works. I’ve been told they’re absolutely excellent at what they do. Otherwise, if you would like to message me personally (Niko Sjogren) for what I will be doing, feel free to do so.

Thank you all so much for your continued efforts, and thank you for making the sport a wonderful experience.

Hey everybody! With the new school year just around the corner, I’d like to welcome everybody back in advance.

In order to maximize the attendance this year, I want to hear from everyone still attending UWL as to when the best time to meet would be for each individual. There’s still a little bit of time before the year starts, but I’d like to hear back ASAP so that way I can set up the reservations as quickly as I can so we can get underway.
