One of the best evenings of fishing in recent times

Once per year, we have some friends from northern Minnesota that come down to the Driftless and do a few days of fishing during the week. My wife and I were fortunate enough to get out again with them this year and it was a great day! I put the euro stick in my wife's hands and got to net 6 fish for her in an hour. Super proud husband moment! I blanked on some dry fly eats and our friends caught another eight fish combined.

After some delay, it's finally here! over the next few weeks and months, I am going to be featuring each fly available from Eighteenmile Fly at Money Creek Outfitters!
This week's fly pattern is my CDC Caddis Pupa. With caddis hatch season underway, it's important to have a few patterns that imitate the emerging insects and this one does it perfectly!

This fall, and I were able to get out on a perfect fall day. We got started late and tied on some egg patterns to see if we could get on that bite. After landing a few good fish, it was Josh's turn and he made it happen and I called the shot! This one has been a fun moment to look back on

Keep an eye out for a new series where I will be tying all fo the Eighteenmile Flies available at ! I will be posting one fly a week and as the seasons change, I'll be changing around the patterns. Stay Tuned!

Hi Everyone!

I am proud to announce that I will now be offering Eighteenmile Fly Merch! At this point, it is just going to be hooded sweatshirts, but there will be more to come like hats and a few other items that I will post about later on.

I am only offering one color at the moment which is the first color. My mock up was only done on the Olive color.

Over Christmas, I got to do something I haven't done in quite a few years. After moving to the Driftless, hunting has taken a back seat to the incredible trout fishing that I am surrounded by. This season however, I picked the bow back up and had the goal of harvesting my first deer in 9 seasons. With some help from on patterning some deer, we got out in the stand with high hopes. As dark approached, a flock of turkeys came out into the field eating everything in sight. Seeing the turkeys took a little bit of wind out of the sails, but the night wasn't over, so we our eyes peeled. As luck would have it, I spotted two deer stepping out into the field as our light started to fade. The deer made their way towards us quickly and I got in position to take a shot. I was presented with a perfect broadside angle at 20 yards and let the arrow fly. The rest was history. I am so thankful to have been given the opportunity to harvest this buck and put some venison in the freezer!

What's new at Money Creek Outfitters? Two new baetis nymph (Blue Winged Olive) patterns have hit the fly bins this weekend ready for the water!

The Olive Jack Daniel's offers lots of movement due to the CDC collar. The Tungsten bead also gets it down to the strikezone very quickly.

The tiny Silver Bullet Baetis closely matches the size and profile of a natural baetis nymph. Fish these up as your dropper on your euro nymphing rig or under a hopper for summer success.

Finally, pre-loaded fly boxes are now available as well! Whether you're looking to add a specific fly in a bunch of weights or a selection of different patterns in different weights, the available boxes have you covered!
