Coulee Crusher details:
(This will be going out via email to all currently registered participants, and anyone else who signs up, but we wanted to share for anyone else who is interested)
Event Details:
Date and Location
Saturday May 23
595 Veterans Pkwy, La Crescent, MN 55947
Start Times
8:00AM - All Gravel Races
Parking
Parking volunteers will help direct you to the upper two lots of Veterans Park in La Crescent, MN. We will keep the bottom lot, next to Timeout Tavern, and the Best Western lot open for guests of both those establishments. If we happen to run out of parking in the upper two lots, street parking is available on the other side of Veterans Park on Park Street.
Packet Pickup
The Trek registration tent will be between the two upper parking lots. We will open for number plate pickup at 6:45AM. Please plan to have picked up your number plate by 7:45AM at the latest - we will begin staging at 7:50 with a riders meeting at the start line, in front of Swing Bridge Pub, at 7:55AM.
In town this evening? Swing by Smith's Bike Shop in La Crosse (125 7th St N, La Crosse, WI 54601) from 5:00PM to 7:00PM to pick up your number plate early and hang with some cool locals.
Routes and Maps
All three routes can be found here: https://ridewithgps.com/collections/8876274
Please download the GPX file for your respective race course. We will have paper copies of cue cards for those without the GPX files and wayfinding at the splits, but will not have course markings at every intersection.
Note that there appears to be two seperate locations for the start and finish line. While you will start and end your ride at the same place, in front of Swing Bridge Pub at Veterans Park, the finish line for timing purposes is at the top of Stoney Point Road Hill, with a non-timed mile ride back through town to Veterans Park.
Aid Stations
Aid stations along the way will have water, light snacks, and a portable toilet. Volunteers at the rest stops will help distribute water and light snacks. We encourage you to pack with enough nutrition to be self-supportive, but the rest stops are there to aid you along the way.
Emergency Contacts
We are supported by the Wisconsin Bike Patrol for medical and Smith's Bike Shop for SAG support. If you need support outside of the rest stops, please text or call and we will coordinate a response to you.
Food and Beverage
After the ride, stick around for food at Timeout Tavern or Swing Bridge Pub. We are grateful to start and finish the ride next to their properties and encourage you to support them for your lunch needs.
