Back in 2012 (Season 3), the Chippewa Valley Roller Derby's first-ever Back to School Bruise-A-Thon Tournament was created to give newly graduated skaters their first taste of bout-day action. Since the event coincided with the start of the school year, the original logo featured a hand-drawn school bell on a chalkboard.
By Season 6, the tournament had grown and evolved. The event timing shifted, and the "Back to School" portion of the name was retired. The event became simply The Bruise-A-Thon. With that change came a new identity: a logo featuring two CVRD skaters battling. This image has become recognizable across the region, with many skaters trying to collect up all the shirt colors over the years.
Now, as we head into Season 17, it's time for the next chapter. The iconic Bruise-A-Thon logo is being refreshed. Same image, just a more modern look for the tournament going forward.
