I am grateful to be in a position to change lives.

One of my favorite things about being a coach is applying what we focus on in the gym directly to their goals.

I get just as much fulfilment helping people achieve their goals in sport and in life, especially when the flip switches and it "all makes sense".

This can be relatively easy for some, like those competing or training for a sport, for example, because the results show up when you play.

For athletes, intention is usually easier.

This same task can be relatively difficult for someone wanting to feel better or live more confidently and having a hard time applying the work they do in the gym those goals.

As coaches, we need to dial into the "buy in" from our client by dialing into the client, NOT the exercise.

We need to coach people, not exercises/movement.

An example for that person would be training the ability to keep their pelvis in a neutral position to allow them to truly engage their core and virtually eliminate back pain.

I can coach a few exercises of this all day, but if I choose to coach the person, the exercise/movement is what it should be all along: a tool.

Learning to control their core/pelvis obviously helps a person feel better.

Eliminating pain will obviously help a person live more confidently.

If you simply just coach the exercise, the connection is lost.

If you coach the person, you build the intention (the "buy in").

This is how you change lives BEYOND the session.

Improving performance, eliminating pain, and boosting confidence are extremely powerful - they change lives!

Movement is my tool.

Steve has gone through some remarkable changes in his body over the last few years, and it's showing up in his TPI Fitness Handicap and golf swing.

Not only is he at least a club further, but he's been able to recover faster between rounds...which means more golf!!

And he's been able to maintain it while adding more power and stability to his game.

We're excited to see what this season brings for Steve (if it ever gets here).

Congrats, Steve! Keep it up!

Make sure you read those stats again, because you read them correctly...

40 YARDS GAINED off the tee! 🔥💣

We had to see it to believe it and it was everything we were looking to achieve.

I remember the year prior to working with Daren we were out golfing together on a Par 5. I got on in 2 as he turned to looked at me and said, "You just did something I could never do."

I'm happy to report that I don't know how many times Daren was able to do it last year because there were MULTIPLE moments that it happened.

Better lower quarter rotation combined with core/pelvic control and lower body strength was everything we needed to unleash Daren's power.

It was all done through the Titleist Performance Institute system ( ).

Now that he's been able to maintain it, we spent this off-season working on control, stabilization to develop more consistency and control on the course.

Sara G has put in the WORK for her golf game over the last year, and it is showing!

Not only has she been able to work on her physical body in relationship to her golf swing, but she's also been able to work on her golf technique as well.

Just look at that improvement through her
Fitness Handicap 😍😍.

Not only did her fitness improve, but she also dropped a massive amount of strokes of her average round scores in 2021 and she's on track to do it again this year as she's taking part in our Move Better Swing Better program.

Here's a quick drill that will help you create more rotation through your thoracic spine.

If you can move better, you'll be able to swing better.

It's that simple.

No more poopy golf swings (at least when it comes to properly rotating through the hips).

A sway and slide are common swing characteristics in people who can't (or don't) rotate properly, particularly through their hips.

Here's a full progression series of hip rotation exercises for you to do to help better rotation out of your hips, which will create a more efficient swing and possibly help prevent low back pain!

Opening day for golf season in our area is officially here!

To celebrate, I'm doing two things:

1) Showing off all the members who took part in our Move Better Swing Better program in the last year. And,

2) Demonstrating exercises you can do to help you prepare your body for the season ahead.

I wanted to start things off with La Crosse local legend, Bruce S.

Bruce started with us after through his son.

After going through our initial screen and analyzing Bruce's swing, we found a few things on set up and rotation to help him create a more efficient swing via rotation.

Another component added to his program was power (distance).

We lose an average of 3% of our power each year after 55 (that could be up to 15 yards of distance lost!!!).

We can lose it, or we can train it.

Obviously, we decided to train it a little bit.

We may not have gained 20 yards off the tee, but we for sure didn't lose any distance through his season.

Bruce even noted that some drives were going a bit further than usual towards the end of the summer last year.

Now he's onto this season as he attempts to keep the low rounds coming maybe even scratch the surface of a sub-70!

The need for speed is here.

With the game of golf being faster than ever (and the future looking even faster).

If you're not training for speed correctly, you're going to be left behind.

Equipment can only do so much.

It will also be governed by what you can actually play with.

Handicaps are higher than ever. Drivers are more expensive than ever.

Rather than spending your money on another new club for you to blame, invest in golf pros, coaches, practice and YOURSELF.

This investments will last longer than another new driver...and another new driver...and another new driver.

Because no matter how good they get (and how cool they are), those now +$600 drivers won't fix that $1 swing.
